It’s only crazy until it happens. 👟 Building CNKDaily.com and the community it has fostered over the last 7 years has been an amazing dream for our Founders Channing Beumer and Cassidy Edwards as well as our team. Now, that dream is expanding as we prepare to open the FIRST Black-woman-owned women's sneaker boutique in the United States. Over the next few days, weeks, and months, you’ll be hearing our story, meeting our vendors, and going behind the scenes as we select products and lay flooring — but, you’ll also get an opportunity to be a part of bringing this dream to life. We're teaming up with IFundWomen to ensure that we start smart and build our first flagship with our supporters. Are you down to help bring some SOLE to the city of Dallas, TX? 📌 proud to team with Pinterest! As we continue to work hard on our end, be sure to engage with us on Pinterest and stay tuned for more! https://pin.it/4qmGDwUE0
We’ve been a little bit quiet but, that’s because it’s time to re-up. It has been insanely hard working on our next chapter CNK Daily but, I’m so proud to announce that we’ve been selected to grow our reach with the Pinterest Inclusion Fund. I’m incredibly excited and grateful to have the support of #pinterest. Over the last few weeks, we’ve been learning how to utilize this amazing tool to learn, serve, and grow our audience more than we ever have before. We’ll be back soon ❤️.

We're not new to this, we're true to this. 👟🤎 We can admit we weren't the cool girls growing up, but we've always loved sneakers. They have been a catalyst for our creative expression and our unique way of building community through a common bond. This has set the state for CNK and SHOP CNK since free lunch. Last Thursday, we won the audience vote for the first round of the Black Girl Ventures Austin Pitch competition because our story resonated with so many. Creating the first Black woman-owned women's sneaker boutique in the US isn't easy and we KNOW we can't do this without all of YOU. Until May 30th, you can vote for SHOP CNK as the business to win the final $15,000 grand prize. HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP: 1️⃣ Tap the link and vote for us here: https://lnkd.in/e-WTnVaQ 2️⃣ Make sure when you register that you check your spam folder (just in case) 3️⃣ VOTE and share with all your peeps PLS! A donation of $5 counts as ONE vote. Note: Votes are only counted from one email + credit card. 🗣 SHOP CNK is so important to us and it was built on serving HER. We know and believe in what this retail concept can do. More representation, more opportunities, and more intentional strategy to lessen the gender pay gap in sneakers. 👟 Are you ready to be a part of sneaker history? With love and our flyest sneakers on, Channing Beumer and Cassidy Edwards

🗞 We recently came across an article on Footwear News regarding the departure of another Executive at Under Armour. This was a bit different and really caught our attention. This departure was UA's Chief People Officer, Tchernavia Rocker. 🤔 We began asking ourselves why is another woman in executive leadership leaving? While we understand the reasons given to the public, it does make us wonder how women are (or aren't) set up for success in the sneaker industry and beyond. [This is the 2nd departure at Under Armour.] 📉 With the decrease of women in C-suite roles (and it already being slim), how are organizations positioning women to flourish in environments where the playing field isn't exactly leveled, or dare we say, equitable. community energy that we LOVE! Bianca Ashton 💐
Yesterday was the culmination of an amazing community initiative “Blossom Kicks for Kids” for the National Cherry Blossom Festival sponsored by Events DC. It was fun working alongside and building a friendship with TaKeyia M. Dickens, MBA through all the twists and turns to get to this moment! It’s so rewarding when you’re able to see your hardwork pay off in the smiles and excitement of kids! Forty students from DCPS were able to experience the thrill of Cherry Blossom season in a unique and interactive way. Their creativity is unmatched! Throughout my career, I’ve been given the opportunities to be in some pretty dope spaces but none quite feel like the community you call home! Special shout out to our partners at DTLR, Inc. , DC Department of Parks and Recreation , Ian Callender , Busboys and Poets , and The Lai Foundation for their support and contribution!

Thank you Gabrielle Union 💐 for highlighting our co-founder Channing Beumer and our company! Join us as we change the future of retail 👟 : https://lnkd.in/g2pQ9i6w
Who says sneaker culture has to be dominated by men? Channing Beumer, the co-founder of Chicks 'n Kicks (CNK), is debunking that myth with style. CNK is a blog-turned-media-company that shines a spotlight on sneaker and streetwear culture from the female perspective, allowing an underrepresented community to be at the forefront. Channing is making history with her newest endeavor, Shop CNK, the first Black-woman-owned and woman-focused experiential retail concept in the United States. This Dallas space will combine community, conversation, and collaboration with retail, allowing people to purchase the latest shoes and trendy apparel while being in the presence of like-minded creatives and sneakerheads. Growing up as the youngest child and only girl, Channing developed a love for sneakers at a young age after her older brothers and cousins introduced her to her first tennis shoe. She went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Political Science and planned to go to law school, but she always knew she had a greater calling. When Channing launched the CNK blog in 2016, she had one goal: to empower women. Today, CNK boasts countless campaigns and promotions, keeps women in-the-know about the latest drops, and provides tips and tricks for them to maximize their shoe collection. Shoutout to Channing for taking up space in a male-dominated market with this innovative approach to retail. I can’t wait to see how her success continues to transform sneaker culture. #WCW Let us lift her up in the light of goodness and hold her there ✨
