About us

The Colorado Education Association is the voice of nearly 40,000 educators, working together in a strong union to ensure all students get the exceptional public schools they deserve, in every neighborhood across the state. As Colorado’s largest labor union, CEA works collectively with all education stakeholders to ensure Colorado’s standing as an excellent state in which to learn, live, work, and raise a family. CEA is a state affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA), America's oldest and largest organization dedicated to advancing the cause of public education.

  • This week, as educators, we stand united to protect the freedom to read and ensure that our students have access to diverse stories and perspectives. Books are more than just stories—they are tools that help students see themselves, understand others, and engage with the world around them. Yet, many of these books are under attack. As educators, it is our responsibility to ensure that every student, no matter their background, can be Freed Between the Lines. By defending access to diverse books, we are preserving empathy, critical thinking, and the teaching of honest and accurate history. Let’s come together to stand against censorship and protect our students’ right to read. #BannedBooksWeek #FreedomToRead #FreedBetweenTheLines #WeAreCEA
