We're hiring! The Foundation is seeking an energetic, self motivated Coordinator for the Youth Advisory Council, and COTS is seeking an administrative assistant and Regional Healthcare Coalition Coordinator. Check the "Jobs" tabs for further details.

Youth Advisory Council Participates in Erase the Space. The Youth Advisory Council will engage in a written exchange program with the Columbus Youth Council and students in the Ubuntu Leadership Program during the ‘23/’24 academic year to foster collaborative, non-competitive dialogue between students from different backgrounds with different life experiences. Youth Council members will write letters, communicate online, and ultimately meet in-person in June during a leadership summit. They will have the opportunity to plan, collaborate and execute on a legislative issue in Ohio, at the city-wide summit. Erase the Space serves to bridge the divide between disparate communities across the city and fosters the idea of a larger community. Participation in Erase the Space will develop skills for CMA Foundation’s Youth Council to have authentic discourse on problems facing their community and be better prepared to take on the most pressing social challenges and issues facing our city (and nation) with empathy and collaboration. Giving - What’s in it for you? Giving is a seemingly simple act. But is it, really? Giving gifts (whether it’s a gift of your time, your talent, or treasure) allows us to express our thoughtfulness and creativity and provides a sense of fulfillment as we form bonds and foster relationships. Research has shown that the act of giving activates the brain’s reward centers, prompting the release of dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. Simply put, giving creates positive emotions that contribute to increased overall well-being and promotes a sense of happiness, connectedness, and attachment.   Whether we give because it makes us feel connected to something bigger than ourselves, or because we simply have a selfless concern for the wellbeing of others - helping others feels good and is good for you. Charitable giving to improve the quality of life for those around you boosts your health and mental well-being by improving self-esteem, positive outlook on life, a sense of purpose, and it also reduces risk of depression (Cone Health, RUSH).   Giving is hard-wired into who we are as human beings. As you consider your final year-end contributions remember the amount you give doesn’t matter; the act itself has been proven to do you good.
