  • This is one of my favorite events every year. The CHS team (and a few good friends) donated more than 112,000 jars of peanut butter to community food banks during this year's Jars of Love peanut butter drive. Kid should not go to bed hungry (and neither should their parents or grandparents or any others who struggle to find a filling and nutritious meal.) CHS colleagues - you did it. You reached our goal and then gave some more. Thank you for making this year's peanut butter drive our best yet!

Our third annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive was a huge success thanks to our generous employees, physicians, business and community partners. This year, we're donating 112,000+ jars of peanut butter to more than 60 local food banks across the communities we serve. We've crunched the numbers, and we're so proud to say the peanut butter we've collected over three years now is enough to make more than 2 million sandwiches for families in need. Thanks to everyone involved for making this peanut butter drive a smooth success! #FightingHunger | #AddressingSDoH

  • In honor of our physicians, CHS hospitals are celebrating this upcoming #DoctorsDay by donating more than $260,000 to charitable organizations in the communities we serve. These donations support reliable transportation, affordable housing, food security and more—all things that directly impact wellness. For the third consecutive year, our Doctors' Day donations help improve the human condition—which is exactly what our doctors do every single day, and for that, we say, thank you. To all of the doctors everywhere, thank you for the care you provide for your patients and communities!

  • Match made in medicine! Congratulations to Carinne Cheney, for matching with the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Tennova Healthcare- North Knoxville Medical Center. Match Day 2025 was a resounding success, and we are proud to welcome 186 graduating medical students into our residency programs, sponsored by Health Education Services, CHS's ACGME-accredited Graduate Medical Education sponsoring institution. To Carinne, and all of our incoming residents, welcome to the CHS team. And to all of the thousands of future physicians, congratulations! The future of medicine looks bright! #MatchDay | #MatchDay2025

  • Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating storms and tornadoes that swept across the U.S. this past week. An EF-3 tornado came within a mile of Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, impacting more than 500 homes and businesses. The Poplar Bluff team quickly stepped up to take care of their community, treating dozens of neighbors needing emergency care and participating in local search and rescue efforts. The CHS Cares Fund—a 501(c)(3) charity that helps our employees impacted by natural disasters, personal tragedies and other difficult experiences—is supporting Poplar Bluff employees as they recover and start to rebuild. If you’re interested in donating to the fund, learn more at cfmt.org/chs #PBStrong | #PoplarBluffStrong

  • It's crunch time! Our CEO Tim Hingtgen is pitching in as we make a last call for peanut butter. Everyone, we need your contributions to help fight hunger right now. Our third annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive is ending soon so we're asking employees, business partners, and friends to help us hit our goal of 100,000 jars to donate to food banks in the communities we serve. You can help hungry families by donating at your CHS health system or shipping peanut butter directly to our office (address in comments below). Every jar counts, so we're counting on YOU. And, thanks to everyone who has contributed so far!

  • We’re calling on our LinkedIn community to help us spread the word and spread the love as we work to collect 100,000 jars of peanut butter during our third annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive. If you work in the CHS organization or are a business partner, will you consider helping us fill our bins with enough peanut butter to make more than a million sandwiches? You'll be helping us fill up and fuel families experiencing hunger. Shipping address in the comment section below.

  • We believe zero events of preventable harm is truly possible—and the only acceptable target that aligns with safety as a core value. And that's why we're so proud of our progress in this area. By the end of 2024, we had achieved our best-ever reduction in our serious safety event rate, down 90% since 2013. This #PatientSafetyWeek, we want to say thank you, to everyone across the CHS organization, for making patient safety the number one priority, and treating every week like it's Patient Safety Awareness Week.

  • It's time to spread the love again! Our third annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive starts now! And we're calling on our colleagues, friends and business partners to help us collect as many jars of peanut butter as possible. Last year, we collected enough peanut butter to make over 1.4 million sandwiches. This year, let's stick together and top that number to alleviate hunger pangs in every community we serve! Spread the word. Spread the love. And help us spread some peanut butter where it's needed.

  • Congratulations to the Woodland Heights Medical Center team for completing their emergency department expansion, more than doubling the number of treatment rooms and ensuring critical care is available when needed. $13.5 million has recently been invested in the Lufkin, Texas, health system as patient encounters continue to increase. In fact, they saw 30,000 patients in their ED last year and consistently met their pledge to have all patients seen in 30 minutes or less. Across CHS, investments like these are expanding access to healthcare services for our communities and providing life-saving care when minutes matter.
