With Connective Impact’s recent leadership transition, the 2024 Opportunity Collaboration (OC) Retreat was special in a number of ways. Our team not only participated in but also facilitated several impactful workshops, engaging with a diverse, driven, passionate global development community. Opportunity Collaboration brings together hundreds of social entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, grantmakers, impact investors, corporates, academics, media, and government leaders—all united to create solutions for global poverty. It’s a space for collaboration, shared challenges, and building partnerships for good. Lara Berry in tandem with Cecilia Conrad at Lever for Change and Brittany Hall and Asya Dinets, MA at Candid hosted a workshop titled "Equity and Access: Unlocking New Doors to Philanthropy"  This interactive session invited small groups to dive into initiatives transforming philanthropy, exploring what’s working, what’s not, and how collaboration can drive more equitable grantmaking practices. BREAKING NEWS: Conserve Co-founder Andrew Parker is officially an The Elevate Prize Foundation finalist! Awarded annually, the Prize recognizes social impact leaders driving transformative change around the world. “I am profoundly honoured to be one of the 20 finalists for the prestigious #ElevatePrize and humbled to be considered alongside 19 visionaries I deeply respect. I also share this nomination with every member of Conserve, as we all have equally important roles to play. Our shared leadership and team structure reflect our model’s inclusive and holistic nature, which promotes Indigenous communities' agency, equity, and livelihoods. We build truly collaborative relationships with the indigenous people who call these precious landscapes home, together focusing on restoring the foundations of stewardship that have nurtured these incredibly diverse and rich ecosystems for centuries. These foundations, we believe, will withstand the imminent challenges of climate change, food insecurity, biodiversity loss, and environmental injustice. Elevate has become a tide behind countless tributaries that carry transformation globally. It emboldens organisations to connect and move beyond the limits of convention to find new solutions at a systemic level and ways of doing good, better. Thank you to everyone on the Elevate team for considering me and the team I stand beside to be a part of your drive to #MakeGoodFamous.” - Andrew Parker, Conserve Co-founder The winners will be announced in early 2025 so stay tuned!
