Founder & CEO of Norm Ai

Thrilled to announce raising an additional $48 million for Norm Ai to transform regulations into compliance AI agents and appointing Troy Paredes as Senior Policy Advisor and Head of Capital Markets Strategy at Norm Ai. Investors in this round include Coatue, Craft Ventures, Vanguard, Blackstone Innovations Investments, Bain Capital Ventures, New York Life Ventures, Citi Ventures, TIAA Ventures, and Marc Benioff. These institutions collectively represent more than $15 trillion in assets. We’ve now raised $87 million over the past 18 months to accelerate our mission to transform enterprise compliance by developing new AI systems. I’m also excited to announce today that Troy Paredes has joined as Senior Policy Advisor and Head of Capital Markets Strategy at Norm Ai to accelerate the company in setting the norms for regulatory and compliance AI.  From 2008-2013, Troy was a Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, having been appointed by President George W. Bush.  At the SEC, he was actively involved across the SEC’s regulation and oversight of capital markets, and has been a strong proponent of leveraging technology in regulatory and compliance environments.  Norm Ai is a legal & compliance automation platform that transforms how enterprises handle legal, regulatory and industry requirements. Rather than treating compliance separate from the business, Norm implements compliance checks proactively and delivers an end-to-end enterprise-wide solution.    Our AI agents are built with our Legal Engineering Automation Platform (LEAP), a proprietary system for creating AI Agents with legal and regulatory domain expertise. LEAP empowers lawyers and ex-regulators at Norm Ai to convert complex policies into operational AI systems powered by Large Language Models. Join our team to help us continue to set the norms.

Today, we’re excited to announce Span. The tool to make big engineering teams feel small. Span is the AI developer intelligence platform that automates busywork and improves decisionmaking so that teams can spend their time building the right things with the right context. It’s the tool Henry L. and I wish we had in our previous roles. We started Span to address a pattern we'd both lived: as teams expand, context is buried under layers of meetings, tools, people and process. Things begin to stall in the "outer loops" like prioritization, allocation, collaboration, and management—areas where mistakes and inefficiencies are arguably more costly. We’re building a future where: • Engineering leaders can understand their most precious resource - team time - so that they’re able to invest intentionally, root out hidden costs of toil, and unlock the true potential of their team • Everyone inside the organization can have an intuitive grasp of what’s happening so they’re empowered to make better decisions, operate confidently and deliver predictably • Discussions around understanding and elevating developer productivity are considered thoughtfully and holistically • The hours tied up in tagging, status reporting and coordination meetings are automated away so that people spend less time on busywork and more time on the real work The magic of small teams can exist at any organization. We’re fortunate to be building out this vision with engineering leadership at Ramp, Braze, Carvana, Vanta, Writer, Zip and many others. I’ll be sharing more over the next few weeks. We have outrageously ambitious plans and we’re just getting started. Link in the comments to sign up for early access!

  • A great summary from Aaron Cort (AC) of proven DevRel tactics to build an enthusiastic community and engage in an authentic way. And a huge thanks to Randall Degges for sharing your insights with our portfolio - it's always great to learn from the best!

How founders (and internal teams) build software has changed forever with AI-first developer products... Supporting Supabase, Replit, CrewAI, Onehouse and many other dev-focused companies at Craft Ventures, 5 things are clear around Developer Relations (DevRel) and Developer Experience (DX): 1. X + YouTube are channels to win developer love in your community 2. A new breed of Developer is emerging (with AI everyone can code)  3. Developers in Enterprises and Startups are evolving with AI Agents 4. Building Open Source Software (OSS) is a must for scale and trust 5. Technical workshops as part of Enterprise sales wins engineers No one champions these in my opinion better than Randall Degges (built zero-to-one DX motions at Snyk, Okta, Stormpath (Acquired by Okta). From community building, content strategy, and enterprise GTM, on top of actually being a developer, Randall is pivotal to Craft's feedback cycle. Here's 5 proven DevRel / DX plays and one of Randall's secrets. _______ 1. Community = Everything for DX at Supabase Shoutout to Ant Wilson, Paul Copplestone and Rory Wilding, who have architected the community at Supabase, fostering a developer culture that people actually like and have fun with around how they ship product. If you haven't had the privilege yet of observing meme-led, content-first growth for developers, follow Supabase on X and Youtube. 2. The "New Breed of Developer" at Replit Replit’s rapid growth is no accident, led by the "new breed" of developer. Amjad Masad has trailblazed this vision with Haya Odeh and Michele Catasta around "make an app for that" and more, making it easier than ever to build your dream app from your pocket. If you want the scoop, check out their announcement (comments). 3. AI Agents = The "New Enterprise" at CrewAI CrewAI is the "new norm" for Enterprise and startups alike building AI Agents — big shoutout to João (Joe) Moura and Rob Bailey for their visionary approach to community (also Open Source-Led) by building incredible open source community on X, YouTube and layering into GA. 4. Open Source Software-Led DX at Onehouse Onehouse is setting the standard for data lakehouse innovation. Vinoth Chandar leads the charge here having created the Hudi Open Source Software (OSS) while early at Uber. That turned into what became Onehouse where they work with leading enterprises on data workflows. 5. “Sandwich Model” and DX Future by Randall Degges Randall pioneered the “Sandwich Model” for DevRel, which integrates Top-Down Sales with Bottom-Up DevRel to accelerate enterprise adoption. Enterprise sales cycles are significantly shortened with DevRel-led technical workshops. Offer free technical workshops as part of enterprise sales outreach, and ensure alignment between DevRel and sales. _______ Thanks again to Randall Degges for being a great resource for Sarah Blanchard (formerly Buckley-Green), Caroline B. and myself. Any other great examples of DevRel / DX? Would love to hear.

    Partner at Craft Ventures

Today, Camber announced its Series B round. We at Craft Ventures are excited to share that we’ve been investors since the Seed stage and are again participating alongside Andreessen Horowitz. Camber’s platform is transforming revenue cycle management (RCM) for behavioral health clinics, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to continue our partnership with the team. As diagnoses of conditions like Autism continue to skyrocket — with one recent CDC study estimating that 1 in 44 children in the U.S. is on the autism spectrum — the demand for high-quality care has never been greater. Yet, countless providers struggle with timely reimbursement from insurance plans, hampering their ability to remain financially stable while offering critical care. Camber identified this challenge and set out to build a solution that alleviates the financial stress for providers, empowering them to focus on what matters most: delivering life-changing care. Camber began in the Autism category, but its success has rapidly extended into other healthcare verticals including speech language pathology (SLP), occupational therapy (OT), physical therapy (PT), and neuropsychology. Today, Camber serves over 90,000 children across the United States, and the company’s revenue base grew 5.5x last year alone. By unifying RCM, billing, and analytics in one place, Camber has become the go-to partner for small clinics and large practices alike. Many smaller clinics on Camber grow at twice the rate of those without a comprehensive RCM solution — a testament to how much impact streamlined billing and insightful data can have on the health of a practice. One of the core reasons we invested in Camber is its unprecedented access to billions of dollars in claims data. This data advantage enables Camber to deliver best-in-class billing performance by staying hyper-focused on the nuances of each therapy vertical. But it also offers clinics far more than efficient billing: Camber helps them identify new regions in need of clinical services, strategize better payer negotiations, and glean insights that drive responsible growth. With Camber’s robust data platform, clinics can develop custom reports in mere minutes — tasks that would otherwise take weeks of manual effort. We’re excited to support Camber’s mission to transform RCM. We look forward to many more years working with Christophe Rimann, Nathan Lee, Celina Qi, and the whole team as they continue to expand into new verticals, tackle emerging needs in behavioral health, and ultimately improve how providers serve their communities.

On February 4th I will have the honor to be the Master of Ceremonies for the 2025 CISO Forum Canada at the Ritz Carlton in Toronto. We have an amazing line up for the day with keynotes on everything from Cyber Warfare to the challenges of managing security in SaaS solutions. We'll be presenting the awards for CISO of the Year and CISO to watch and closing out the day with, one of my favorite events, The Cybersecurity Meetup with Chris Roberts! Last year it was 3 hours of unvarnished, no-BS straight talk with an amazing group. Chris, Ali and myself will bring audience members on stage to discuss any topic they like. In the past we've had CEO's, Gov employees, Law enforcement, Hackers (at the same time!) and of course CISOs. You never know what will happen at one of these sessions! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there and if you need tix you can get them at https://lnkd.in/gtC_W58H siberX, George A., Octavia N. Howell, CISSP, Mahdi Raza
