Happy United Nations Day! 🌍 At Creative Action Institute, we are deeply committed to advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals across all our programs. Today, we’re spotlighting CO-CREATE, an initiative that specifically tackles Climate Action, Quality Education, and Gender Equality. Launched at #COP28 with USAID and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), CO-CREATE is a pioneering initiative to advance climate action and empower girls in Tanzania’s education system. Together with Aga Khan Foundation, Restless Development and Belmont University, we are integrating climate and gender focused curricula into Tanzanian schools. Our role is to develop these inclusive materials and lead workshops that empower both educators and students. Over the next two years, we’ll help test and scale solutions to create lasting impacts, fostering gender equality while addressing climate change. This year, we teamed up with Cultural Survival to work alongside the Ccapaq Hancco community on a creative project to protect their lands. Through a giant storyboard, the community shared their stories and highlighted their critical thinking about local and national environmental issues. They aim to overcome the preconceptions placed on indigenous peoples and project themselves as a model community for the future.
