So many companies that use Slack to communicate internally struggle with how to handle it for litigation or internal investigations. Slack is a great product for teams to communicate and is often where business get work done. But the struggle is real for in-house legal teams to adequately, efficiently, and cost-effectively manage Slack data. First, there are licensing limitations for some organizations without the full Enterprise Grid Slack license. Exporting may be limited to a full “compliance export” of the whole environment. At lower level licenses, Slack doesn’t save edits and deletes and may not allow for private channels to be exported en masse. Even when you do export the conversations, reading a JSON file in a conversational context is not very easy. But there’s hope… DISCO Hold has been a Slack Marketplace partner for years (https://lnkd.in/gq2bwN49). I love how elegantly DISCO Hold can help in-house legal teams preserve Slack conversations in the native application and preview in a Slack-like UI.
