Advancing research and improving lives of those affected by the Congenital Muscular Dystrophies.
About us
Cure CMD’s mission is to advance research toward treatments for the congenital muscular dystrophies and improve the lives of those living with CMD through engagement and support of our community. Founded in 2008, Cure CMD prioritizes being responsive to the needs of our community. We are a proud member of the Rare As One Network funded by the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, and have received two Eugene Washington Engagement Awards from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to date. We have co-funded more than $3 million in research, launched the Congenital Muscle Disease International Registry (CMDIR) and two clinical trials, and connected more than 4,000 stakeholders worldwide through the registry, social media, educational webinars, and conferences. Our passion for improving the lives of CMD-affected individuals and their families is what drives our work. To that end, we continually strive to be the number one source of CMD news and information for all.
