Effective immediately, David Mason + Associates (DMA) has opened an office in Indianapolis, Indiana, providing civil and structural engineering with the support of DMA’s civil and structural teams in Chicago, Philadelphia, Tampa, and the company’s headquarters in St. Louis. The new location in central Indiana will expand DMA’s reach in the Midwest and enhance our focus on new and existing clients in healthcare, higher education, aviation, utilities, and institutional/civic markets. DMA’s Indianapolis office will be the home base for Matthew Moore, PE, PMP, the firm’s vice president of civil engineering; and, Michael Maxwell, PE, the firm’s vice president of structural engineering. Maxwell and Moore combined have more than 50 years’ experience in their respective engineering disciplines, with most of that time spent gaining broad experience and contacts while creating a network of clients and partner firms in the state’s largest market. Mike Maxwell’s portfolio of work over his 20-year engineering career includes structural design projects for renovation and new construction of facilities throughout the country in healthcare, higher education, sports facilities, industrial, hospitality, and the restoration of historic structures. His extensive expertise spans various material types and structural systems, allowing him to deliver tailored, innovative solutions across these diverse project categories. In his 30-plus year engineering career, Matt Moore has managed large scale, multi-disciplinary and high-profile projects for several large engineering firms. He previously supervised capital projects for a major aviation group, providing him the opportunity to travel to over 20 countries, including in the Middle East, North and Central America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Now celebrating its 35th year in business, David Mason + Associates, a minority-owned business enterprise, has completed more than 14,000 projects while providing professional services to a range of clients nationwide. The firm’s new office is on the north side of Indianapolis near the Fashion Mall at Keystone at the Crossing.

Proud to share that our DMA Philly team had the honor of attending last week’s ribbon cutting for The School District of Philadelphia Lewis C. Cassidy Elementary School. Teachers, parents, and West Philly residents celebrated the $62M new school opening last week. DMA provided civil engineering services including site grading and stormwater management for the school's demolition and new construction, as well as coordination with the architect team. As our interns wrap up their time with us, we’re celebrating the amazing growth and achievement that these young professionals have brought to DMA. Over the past 13 weeks, our 11 interns have been on site visits, supported a variety of active projects, developed internal documents for company-wide use, participated in team and client meetings, contributed to project proposals and estimates, and learned new design and analysis software. We’re confident that their talent and skills will continue into the Fall, and we’re excited to see what our internship class of 2024 achieves next! Construction for the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Center St. Louis (AMICSTL) is expected to begin later this year. According to a recent St. Louis Business Journal article, the project will potentially create hundreds of new businesses and spur regional growth. The article also noted that manufacturing high bay research and development manufacturing space, advanced specialty labs and corresponding equipment, community spaces for training and community activities, and an auditorium for world-class technical conferences and product showcases will be inside AMICSTL.
