💙At just 16, George was diagnosed with kidney failure and began to experience a range of health challenges, including transplant and transplant loss. But his "keep moving forward" mentality has kept him going. Now treating on home hemodialysis (HHD) with DaVita, George feels “unstoppable.” He’s back to riding his motorcycle, playing guitar, and cherishing time with loved ones. He was inspired by his home nurse Sylvia to become a DaVita patient care technician (PCT), offering his patients the same compassionate care he received. Today, he empowers other dialysis patients by building connections and empathizing with their experiences, and he feels deep fulfillment as a DaVita teammate. Exciting News! We are so honored to collaborate with Girls Inc., an initiative empowering young minds to explore careers in STEM throughout women’s history month. During the Girls and Science kickoff event, DaVita Kidney Care volunteers brought science to life with three hands-on activities that sparked curiosity and creativity: 🩸 Kidney Filtration Demo – Participants explored how kidneys filter waste and keep our bodies clean! 🎨 Play-Doh Kidneys – These kids constructed kidneys out of Play-Doh while learning how these vital organs work. 🧠 Kidney Trivia – Families tested their knowledge with fun facts about the kidneys.
