Team Medica is officially in the Halloween spirit 👻 Last weekend several our Employee Resource Groups both in MN and WI participated in multiple community Trunk or Treat events! We had a blast handing out candy 🍭 and connecting with our community partners! Have a great and safe Halloween!
Recently members of our HOLA ERG (Employee Resource Group) spent a day volunteering at Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin as part of the group's healthy equity focus on food security in our community 🍎 🍏 . We always love giving back to folks in need--a great time was had by all.
Last week some members of our health promotions team (Jeena Breunig and Rachel Look) attended the Hard Hats with Heart event benefitting the American Heart Association. ❤️ The event specifically works to improve the cardiovascular health of those working within the Madison construction industry. ❤️ The campaign’s focus is to integrate health, well-being and prevention solutions into the culture of the industry. It brings professionals together from across the construction and health care industries for an evening of networking and celebration. ❤️ Thank you to Wisconsin Aviation, Inc. for hosting the event at their beautiful venue (check out that incredible sunset 🌇 ) ❤️ Our health promotions team was excited to be invited to incorporate the importance of preventative wellness and screening.

Road tripping 🚗 across several states educating and collaborating with our members and communities as the busy annual and open enrollment season kicks off! From a great event this week in Watertown, South Dakota meeting over 300 people and helping many of them enroll in our Medicare Advantage plans (they got to meet our new Chief Operating Officer Adam Hjerpe too) to several successful broker events in Omaha, Missouri and Wisconsin, plus a coffee ☕ and donut 🍩 sales kit pick-up drive-thru at our Minnetonka parking lot--we are here for our agents, members and awesome communities we serve every step of the way!
Some 🐶 🐕🦺 love this week at Edgerton High school during their flu shot 💉 clinic. Our amazing health services team had our service dogs, Keta and Ruck, on hand to lend a paw or some snuggles to the kiddos when receiving their annual flu shots--even the adults needed some support too! Thank you to our amazing partnerships with our school communities--our health services team and everyone at Dean Health Plan, Inc. appreciates you! It was a beautiful day to walk for mental health awareness!! We were grateful to be part of Saturday's walk at Olin Park in Madison on behalf of NAMI Dane County-- NAMIWalks is the organization’s largest mental health awareness and fundraising event. With one in five people experiencing mental illness at any given time, NAMI Dane County says their walks are a chance to normalize talking about mental health.

Team Madison and Omaha had a blast at our Town Hall day of events: 🔲 For the first time in company history--we hosted a NAMI walk on all 3 of our campuses across MN, WI and NE and raised more than $10,000 to support their chapters to raise awareness for mental health. Championing mental health is a cornerstone of our company. 🔲 Our hub clubs and Employee Resource Groups organized a Celebration of Cultures event and a vendor fair to highlight different foods, music and homemade items spanning various cultures and regions to bring our diverse employees together. 🔲 We set up an area for crafting handmade cards for seniors to help combat loneliness in the elderly--we will be dropping them off to senior living areas. 🔲 And we had hundreds joins us for our Town Hall discussion across our hub communities to engage, learn and get dialed in for the ways that makes Dean Health Plan, Inc. special and show up for our members to better their health.
In remembrance of 9/11, employees of our Salutes ERG (Employee Resource Group) delivered cookies 🍪 and coffee ☕ to local law enforcement, fire and EMS departments as a thank you for their service and acknowledgement of the significance of September 11th. The Madison Salutes team delivered to Madison West District and Mount Horeb. Lots of smiles and great conversation at each location. We were honored to be able to participate again this year.
