Meet US Army Lt. Gen. Paul T. Stanton, DISA director and JFHQ-DODIN commander! Described by Acting DOD CIO Leslie Beavers as a "warrior scholar," Stanton holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University. Prior to joining the agency and command, Stanton served as the commanding general of the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Eisenhower. Stanton brings with him nearly 30 years of military experience. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1995 and commissioned into the infantry but later transitioned to the cyber branch in 2015. During the change of command ceremony at DISA Headquarters on Friday, Oct. 4, Stanton said, "I’m honored for the opportunity to join the amazing team in stride as we remain trusted to connect, protect and serve.” He went on, "This agency and command are critical to our nation’s warfighting success. Failure is not an option, and excellence is our standard." Join us in welcoming Stanton and his family to DISA!

Since Hurricane Helene tore along the U.S. coast, we’ve ensured communications lines critical to relief operations remain open in support of the first responders who are coordinating life-saving efforts. Working with the 52nd Combat Communications Squadron, we supported the deployment of three satellite manpack terminals, allowing FEMA and the National Guard to maintain essential communications in disaster-stricken areas. We're grateful for everyone who is working around the clock to help those affected. If you or someone you know needs disaster assistance: ➡️ https://bit.ly/3VMGo4y

Defending our portion of the United States Department of Defense Information Network is our first strategic imperative in the DISA Next Strategy. To do this, we rely on our defensive cyber operators, all of whom need to be ready to meet the ever-increasing demands of the cyber domain. Recently, #DISAGlobal hosted our inaugural DISA Cybersecurity Service Provider Defensive Cyber Operations Summit at Scott Air Force Base. This event brought together cyber defense analysts from across the agency to exchange operational knowledge, tools and processes so they can stay ahead of the fight. We're grateful for the service members and civilians who work behind the scenes to secure the DODIN and ensure our cyber superiority.
