Thank you for the warm welcome! We're thrilled to be joining forces with Walmart on this groundbreaking initiative. At Denali, our mission has always been to create innovative solutions for organic material recycling, and this collaboration represents a major leap forward in our shared goal of sustainability. By streamlining the depackaging process, we’re not only making operations more efficient for Walmart but also ensuring that a greater portion of food waste is diverted from landfills to organics recycling. This means fewer greenhouse gas emissions and a more sustainable future for everyone. We're excited to see the positive impact this partnership will have on Walmart's customers, associates, and the environment. Together, we're making a real difference! Let’s keep pushing forward toward a greener tomorrow. 🌍🌱 #Sustainability #FoodWasteReduction #GreenPartnerships
Exciting news! Walmart is taking a significant step forward in sustainability through a new collaboration with Denali, an industry leader in organic material recycling. This partnership is set to revolutionize the food recycling process at the nation’s largest retailer, bringing substantial benefits to both customers and employees. Traditionally, Walmart has relied on a manual, in-store system to handle the removal of expired, spoiled, damaged, or recalled food—a process known as “depackaging.” Now, with Denali’s expertise, Walmart can streamline this process, allowing associates to focus on other essential tasks while significantly boosting the amount of #FoodWaste diverted to organics recycling. https://loom.ly/z6k7Ntw #SustainablePackagedGoods #SPGs #OrganicRecycling #FoodWasteReduction

Last week Denali's VP of Sustainability Kate Worley joined industry leaders at the National Restaurant Association to present on the food waste recycling options available to food service establishments. We are excited to expand our offerings - including the revolutionary process of depackaging - to restaurants as a way to recycle both pre- and post-consumer food scraps. It's one more way that we are having a major impact on the U.S. food supply chain. #foodwaste #zerowaste #sustainability #recycling

Denali has teamed up with Walmart to deploy a new recycling process at thousands of stores and in most major U.S. cities. We have seen up to a 60% increase in the amount of food waste diverted from landfills and kept in the circular economy as animal feed, compost, and renewable energy. Thanks to ambitious partners like Walmart, Denali is transforming food waste into a resource ♻️ . Denali's process leverages depackaging - technology that efficiently separates packaging like plastic and cardboard from organics content. This replaces a time-intensive, manual process and frees store associates to spend more time helping customers. Depackaging also allows stores to recycle all types of food in one step, including meat, dairy, frozen and liquid items, as well as produce. Thanks to this innovation, we expect to recycle about 200,000 pounds of food waste from each store that utilizes our depackaging services. Denali, a full-service organic recycler, is helping #petfood processors work toward their #sustainability efforts through a unique #recycling service. The company’s facility in Coachella, Calif., processes unused pet food into #animalfeed in an effort to divert the product from landfills and reduce food waste. “Manufacturers should recognize that their waste has value and it’s something that we should be keeping in the agricultural economy,” said Samuel Liebl, director of communications for Denali. Pet food is packed full of nutrients, which is why Denali has come up with a cutting-edge process to recycle unsold kibble into products to feed fish and other animals. This is just another way Denali contributes to the circular economy by producing valuable products from “wasted” byproducts. Thank you to Kimberlie Clyma of ▼Pet Food Processing for this deep-dive into our kibble recycling operation and to Denali's Jason Cabanyog, Sr and Samuel Liebl for offering their expert points of view! We are proud of the work Jason's team carries out in Coachella, California every day. https://lnkd.in/gb2ww9_B #circulareconomy #recycling #agriculture #sustainability
