It’s 313 Day, a day to celebrate all things Detroit! For PSC, it’s a moment to reflect on some of the projects and partners we have been proud to support across the city. Recently, we dove into the development and implementation of an intentional, forward-looking 2030 strategic plan with Detroit Future City. Our economic contribution study we conducted for MichAuto was highlighted at the Detroit Auto Show this year and referenced in major media outlets. Our research revealed that Michigan’s mobility industry makes up 20% of employment in the state. Since its inception in 2015, we have worked with leaders on TechTown Detroit’s MedHealth initiative, is a regional collaboration that connects, convenes, and educates the medical innovation ecosystem in Michigan and Ontario to drive innovation for technologies that improve quality of care and contribute to economic growth. The Great Lakes Fishery Trust, staffed by PSC, supported the National Wildlife Federation with the Detroit Leadership and Environmental Education Program, which helped high schoolers from across Detroit engage in 75 after-school programs including nature excursions.   We have a long history of work in Detroit. With projects in progress and a new downtown office location coming soon, we have an exciting future ahead of us in the 313, too. #Detroit #313Day #Michiganpolicy

  • “Service is the rent we pay for living on earth,” Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm. No one lived this quote quite like our beloved friend, community champion for change, journalist, musician, and Arise Detroit Founder and Executive Director, Luther Keith. A fearless leader, he dedicated his life to fighting for Detroiters and empowering our communities block by block to shape a Detroit that provides opportunities for all residents and sharing the incredible story of our city. His fierce commitment influenced thousands of Detroiters to use their power to drive change in the city, transforming their community one person, one block, and one lot at a time. Through signature programs such as Neighborhoods Day, the creation of the Neighborhood Transformers Neighborhood Solutions Guide, and Luther’s support of numerous initiatives that drove change through community collaboratives, his incredible legacy and impact will continue to live on in the action of the residents he served. We honor him, we thank him, and we will continue to support the resilient residents of Detroit, as he would want all of us to. Rest in Peace Luther Keith. Your impact will never be forgotten.
