On June 27th, the Office of Community Engagement hosted an Environmental Justice Advocacy Day with WE ACT for Environmental Justice and members of The Environmental Justice Leadership Forum ( EJ Forum). The EJ Forum is a network of nearly 50 organizations in 22 states across the Appalachia, Deep South, Extreme Northwest, Midwest, Northeast and Southwest regions of the country. The groundbreaking convening showcased the Office of Energy Justice and Equity, DOE Loan Programs Office, Fossil Energy and Carbon Management , Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), U.S. Department of Energy and DOE State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP) allowing each office to share current DOE funding opportunities and initiatives that center equity and would be of interest to communities across the country. #OCE #equity #communityengagement #environmentaljustice

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s Office of Energy Justice and Equity is leading FIVE in-person informational webinars on the Regional Energy Democracy Initiative (REDI) NEXT WEEK throughout the Gulf Coast. REDI is a new $5 million technical assistance and capacity building program that will fund regional and local nonprofits, workforce and labor organizations, legal support entities, economic development entities, academic institutions that serve underrepresented populations, or other organizations that will be able to help communities meaningfully engage in the development and implementation of community benefits associated with DOE-funded projects in the Gulf Coast region of Texas and Louisiana.
