1031 Vermont Avenue is coming to a rapid ending in the next few weeks. Final inspections have begun and will continue into the next couple of weeks as the team completes the remaining sitework around the building. Punchlist walks for all the units will be complete by early next week as well. The project team and subcontractor partners are pushing to completion for this new project in Arlington, VA. Donohoe Construction and Arcadis have teamed up to participate in the 2024 CANstruction event held at the National Building Museum on November 24th. We are excited to participate in an event that raises awareness of global hunger! All proceeds will be donated to the Capital Area Food Bank in our name, in partnership with our fellow architecture firms. Together, we’ll be building a display out of canned foods centered around the theme of ‘Tools and Equipment.’ Every can used will later be donated to support our local food bank. Our Rapid Response division recently completed some renovations at a Sunrise Senior Living Home in Washington, DC. The scope of work included renovation of two spas, carpet and paint in elevator lobbies, carpet in dining room, and refinishing of decorative railings. #TeamDonohoe wrapped up October with a fantastic Halloween Happy Hour! Our team brought out their creative side with some amazing costumes for our costume contest, and the energy was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and festive fun. From spooky to silly, everyone’s costumes showed off the team spirit that makes Donohoe such a great place to work. Cheers to a memorable evening and to everyone who made it happen! 🍂✨

The Brightview Northfax project is making great progress. As of this week we’ve started going vertical from our 3rd floor podium slab with wood framing on the Independent Living side of the building, and structural steel work on the Assisted Living/Memory Care side of the building. Interior/exterior framing & CMU work are progressing along with overhead rough-ins. When the project is complete, the 7-story building will have 200 units, consisting of 110 Independent Living Units, 64 Assisted Living units, and 26 Memory Care units. Donohoe is proud to feature this hotel renovation for Hilton Canopy Embassy Row! The scope of work included new interior partitions, high-end millwork, and custom fabricated finishes, kitchen equipment modifications, café/bar area, fitness room, and power and lighting modifications, plus the installation of a new porta cochere. The work was done in a busy operating hotel, requiring an intensive amount of coordination with hotel management. Proud of the work #TeamDonohoe delivered and the value it added to the property.
