About us
Dorchester Bay EDC was founded in 1979 by local civic associations to address the problems of economic disinvestment, unemployment, crime, community tensions and the shortage of quality affordable housing undermining Boston's Dorchester neighborhoods. Today, with both economic growth and income inequality on the rise, many of these problems remain as we face new challenges such as gentrification and displacement. Our mission is more relevant than ever before. Visit www.dbedc.org to learn more about our efforts to support strong people in sustaining stronger, more secure and safer neighborhoods.

CEO Kimberly R. Lyle speaking on Opportunity Finance Network's #OFN40 Conference Panel "Tidal Shift: #CDFI leaders on Shaping Our Third Wave." "And in the end, I came to the perspective that maybe I was selected because I represent my community so unabashedly, so out loud. And I'm constantly rooting for my people. I want us to win. I love them. And I bring that everywhere I go, whether it's online, whether it's in community, whether it's here at a conference like this. So, I thought maybe that being not afraid to be so boastful about the people I serve might be a reason I'm here today." Moderated by Sara Razavi Panelists: Tom De Simone and Skya Ducheneaux
