Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward recently visited Mansfield to meet with Mansfield District Council as well as education and business leaders. The visit included a whistle-stop tour of Mansfield Museum, a behind-the-scenes look at Vision West Nottinghamshire College's new Old Brewery campus that has been transformed to offer students a place to learn about construction trades, and a tour of key regeneration projects in the town centre. The redevelopment sites included Mansfield Connect, the former Beales building set to be revitalised into a multi-agency hub to house key public services, the Memorial Garden, and White Hart Street - a derelict site that will be transformed to deliver affordable housing and connect the town centre. Mayor Claire said: 'I'm really excited about the ambition that's being shown here in Mansfield. It's exactly what our towns need across the East Midlands region to bring communities together.' New Chief Executive for the East Midlands Combined County Authority We're thrilled to announce that Amy Harhoff has been appointed as the first permanent Chief Executive of the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA)! 🎉 Amy joins us from Durham County Council, where she has been Corporate Director for regeneration, economy and growth for the past four years. She brings extensive experience from senior roles at Sandwell Council, South Yorkshire Combined Authority, and Transport for Greater Manchester. As EMCCA’s Chief Executive she will be responsible for leading the organisation’s work on regional transport, housing, economic development, Net Zero, jobs and skills priorities.
