Michigan announces the first recipients of the Justice40 Accelerator, empowering community-based organizations to drive climate action in under-resourced and environmental justice communities. The 25 awarded organizations will each receive a $25,000 grant along with tailored technical assistance to enhance clean energy and strengthen climate resilience. In partnership with Elevate and the Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition, EGLE is dedicated to supporting these organizations as we address historical inequities and promote climate action and clean energy for all Michiganders. “Every Michigander, no matter where they live, deserves to thrive in a safe, healthy community,” said EGLE Director Phil Roos. “EGLE is proud to partner with community-based organizations as we work to make that vision a reality for everyone." #EnvironmentalJustice #Justice40 #MIHealthyClimate

Myth: Staying indoors protects you from air pollution Fact: The air inside our buildings actually has two to five times the amount of common pollutants compared to outdoor air! Most Americans spent over 90% of their time indoors, and vulnerable populations including young children and senior citizens even more, but there are few regulations or guidelines for indoor air quality. But there are simple things you can do to improve the quality of the air in your home. Spooky Solution: How to Banish Indoor Air Pollution - Ventilate: Open windows or use exhaust fans to let fresh air circulate. - Use Air Purifiers: Opt for HEPA filters to trap harmful particles. - Change HVAC Filters Regularly: Make sure your heating and cooling systems are not circulating dirty air. - Houseplants: Add some greenery to your space—they act as natural air purifiers! By taking these simple steps, you can protect your home and loved ones from hidden indoor air pollution! https://lnkd.in/eZmcrPc

Research shows that home ventilation systems significantly improve indoor air quality by reducing harmful pollutants like mold and carbon monoxide. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates 72% of a person’s chemical exposure happens at home, making this study crucial for healthier living spaces. We know that highlights the benefits of pairing ventilation systems with energy-efficient strategies, which helps keep costs down while improving air quality. 🏠 Check out our website to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gRnKBAWF #HealthyLungMonth #BreatheBetter #IndoorAirQuality #Sustainability #ClimateAction
