It’s a big day around here! First of all, Happiest of Birthdays to Teresa Sorenson, one of our fearless leaders! Second of all, today is our 5th anniversary as a company! As we (Teresa and Lara Durben) reflect on where we started and how far we’ve come, we are incredibly grateful to all of our amazing clients who entrust us with their events. We work with the absolute best people from across the U.S. on many incredible meetings, conferences and trade shows. It’s been a dream come true for us and we thank you! A big thank you also goes to our team - Sara VanDenEinde, Tonia Evans, and Alyssa Sorenson. You make every day fun and productive - and we love that we are a team of empowered women getting things done for our clients! Finally, thank you to our families, who have always been our biggest supporters. Starting a business is no small leap of faith and has come with both successes and challenges. Last week we were proud to be the planning partner for the Southeast Egg Industry Regional Conference at the amazing Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. The destination did not disappoint as over 200 attendees from across the southeast (and beyond!) spent a couple of days enjoying the area, networking, and learning. Whitewater rafting, fly fishing, golf, a Biltmore tour, and a craft beer tasting brought the fun. And Hinda Mitchell from Inspire PR Group and Oscar Garrison with the United Egg Producers provided valuable lessons in crisis and emergency management at the EGGucation session. We also must mention that Kenneth Anderson from NC State was honored for all of his incredible work on behalf of the egg industry. The The Omni Grove Park Inn and Accents on Asheville were amazing partners to us as we planned the logistics and details of each day. We highly recommend Asheville as a meetings destination - it’s gorgeous, vibrant, and provides something for everyone! We’re already looking forward to next year’s conference in Hilton Head, SC!

At The Conversations That Matter, we believe that core values drive our behaviors. In fact, most adult’s values are pretty set and don’t change easily. In addition to our core values, we each interact with the world around us in our own ways. The trick is that our interaction with the ‘outside’ is a moving target. Depending on a whole bunch of circumstances, including but not limited to environment, location, others influencing the situation, sleep, health, past situations, and so many more, we might act and react differently based on the truth we are experiencing. In The Inside-Out Approach to Leadership, we start by really knowing ourselves. In every situation where we want to show up as an authentic leader, we must factor in things that influence our behaviors beyond our core values. We're excited to get registration up and rolling for Shell Egg Academy in 2024! A fun fact about this education experience ... the in-person edition of SEA is the ONLY egg education event that brings together all three regulatory agencies that govern eggs to present, discuss, and learn together with the egg industry. How cool is that?
We are super excited to announce registration is now open for the 2024 Shell Egg Academy (SEA). Interested participants can sign up for either the Virtual Edition or the In-Person Edition (or both!), depending on your needs. Virtual SEA will be held April 24-28, 2023 and provide interactive class sessions on egg quality and food safety for farmers and egg companies producing and processing table eggs. Sessions will be held live on Zoom and be offered in both English and Spanish translation. The sessions will also be recorded for access throughout 2024 after the live version ends. The In-Person SEA Edition -- September 10-12 at Purdue University -- is an advanced egg production and processing course for managers and upper level employees that focuses on egg quality information, leadership training, a variety of interactive experiences, and plenty of networking. In fact, SEA is the ONLY egg industry education event in the U.S. that brings together representatives from all three of the regulatory bodies that regulate eggs to network and learn with egg companies! This weekend, we welcomed over 113,000 fans through our doors for an incredible concert on Friday night and a big Minnesota Vikings win on Sunday!
