Explore the future of global gas demand with our latest insights, where we challenge the IEA's Stated Energy Policies Scenario (STEPS) by forecasting robust growth until 2039, driven by coal replacement and new liquefaction projects. While STEPS predicts a peak in 2030, our analysis anticipates continued demand, particularly in China and the Middle East, with significant implications for global production, trade flows, and pricing. Discover how these dynamics could shape the energy landscape and influence strategic decisions in the coming decades here - https://lnkd.in/eWfV9_fk #EnergyAspects #Gas #EnergyTransition

"The Trump policy mix adds a significant overhang to what was already a pretty fraught situation and one that's likely to be persistent," says Dan Schwartz. "I think that's what we're seeing unfold ... Certainly yields have moved up but rates markets have been choppy and we've seen big rallies ... yet the dollar's barely budging". Even before Donald Trump regained the US presidency on 5 November, bond, stock, and currency markets have all repriced yet their direction is unclear. To assess what this repricing says about the revised outlook for global growth, inflation, and fiscal and monetary policy, Medley Advisors brought together three in-house market analysts: Nick Stadtmiller, Dan Schwartz, and Phil Tyson. The fourth instalment of the EA Forum Jeff Currie podcast series, released earlier this week for Energy Aspects subscribers, is now available. In the latest podcast, recorded prior to the US elections, Jeff Currie and EA Founder and Director of Market Intelligence Dr Amrita Sen discuss a wide range of topics, including: • Shifting financial market dynamics and how the oil market could become a space dominated by privates and trade houses. • The trend of bigger companies growing faster than small companies, and how it is affected by access to capital thanks to passive investments. • The crucial importance of “clean” data for ensuring data integrity, and how “pollution” can leave the technology chain "useless”. The IEA expects fossil fuel demand to peak by 2030 in its Stated Policies scenario (STEPS), earlier than EA's expectation of a 2032 peak. We also expect liquids consumption to peak in 2032, later than the IEA, partly due to strong demand growth from the petrochemical sector, and differing expectations for Middle Eastern oil-fired power generation. In the longer term, out to 2050, our sectoral demand forecasts are not dissimilar to the IEA STEPS, with falling road transport oil demand partially offset by strong gains in the petrochemical sector. On Sunday 3 November, OPEC+ announced a one-month delay to the planned unwinding of voluntary production cuts. On the morning of 30 October, expert EA analysts highlighted this possibility to clients before major financial news outlets. We noted that OPEC+ might want to buy time for further deliberations at the 1 December OPEC+ meeting, given recent price drops and with seasonal Q1 weakness in mind, and that such a move would reduce the projected global crude stockbuild for 2025. EA Live has unmatched speed and accuracy in delivering breaking market analysis. In a dynamic market, timing is everything. Energy Aspects clients get the most up-to-date and precise information, empowering them to make informed decisions faster than ever. We've released our Medium-Term Energy Outlook, forecasting global energy demand and supply out to 2030. While the energy transition will remain inclusive, with each of the five primary energies playing key roles, renewables will lead growth, triggering an end to the long-held 80% global market share for fossil fuels. Neither oil nor gas demand will peak by 2030, with gas in particular rising strongly, driven by Asia and the Middle East. The power sector will dominate primary energy demand growth, as the world increasingly electrifies. Energy Aspects is committed to helping you navigate the energy transition.
