Have you ever noticed that decision-makers aren’t always the best at evaluating new ideas? It’s not just a gut feeling—it’s backed by research. A recent study revealed that while experts are great at recognizing creative, groundbreaking ideas, putting them in decision-making roles often limits their ability to select those same ideas. Why? Decision-makers tend to focus on risks and uncertainties they can’t control, making them more cautious and less likely to choose novel concepts. The takeaway? If you want smarter decisions and more innovation, separate idea screening from final decision-making. Let experts spot the gold, and decision-makers evaluate feasibility without missing out on breakthrough opportunities. It might be time for you to rethink how you approach innovation evaluation—because great ideas shouldn’t get lost in the shuffle. What do you think? Have you seen this play out in your own organization? Let’s talk. #Innovation #Leadership #CreativeThinking #Business #Analytics https://lnkd.in/gBtq5Pr3

🚀 I'm thrilled to announce that Beloved Economies is now available as an audiobook! When the authors first approached Eureka! Ranch as a "Breakout Actor" from “business as usual” innovation, we were honored to be foundational contributors to this important work. The book—and now the audiobook—captures the transformative practices we teach through Innovation Engineering, reimagined in a fresh and compelling way. The chapter on Fail Fast, Fail Cheap highlights our work specifically, showcasing how experimenting smarter can drive meaningful innovation. This is more than a book; it’s a guide to building organizations rooted in shared power, care, and thriving diversity. We’re proud to have played a role in its creation and excited to see its impact grow through this new format. 🎧 Listen now at bit.ly/BEaudiobook Eureka! Targeting Growth: Why First-Time Customers Are Key to Your Marketing Strategy A common pitfall in marketing strategy is focusing too heavily on loyal customers. Contrary to conventional wisdom, research indicates that while loyal customers contribute to volume, they often yield lower profit margins compared to first-time or one-time customers. Studies from the Scanner 9000 dataset and a mail-order catalog tracking study underscore this insight: a significant portion of sales and profits—up to one-third—come from non-loyal customers. This challenges us to adopt a balanced portfolio approach where we invest not only in retaining loyal customers but also in converting short-term customers into repeat buyers. Here's why prioritizing first-time customers matters: 1. Profit Potential: New customers can be more profitable than loyal ones, especially when they're effectively introduced to your brand's value proposition. 2 . Future Loyalty: First-time customers are the gateway to cultivating future loyalists. Their initial experience shapes their perception of your brand and influences their decision to return. To capitalize on this opportunity: ⚫ Streamline Purchase Processes: Simplify the buying experience for new customers to encourage impulse purchases and reduce barriers to entry. ⚫ Explore New Segments: Continuously test and discover new customer segments to expand your market reach and uncover untapped opportunities. ⚫ Direct Marketing Initiatives: Proactively engage non-buyers with compelling messages that highlight your brand's unique benefits through demonstrations and testimonials. Remember, nurturing first-time customers isn't just about immediate sales; it's about laying the foundation for long-term success through meaningful customer relationships. #MarketingStrategy #CustomerAcquisition #BusinessGrowth #SalesPerformance #CustomerExperience #Entrepreneurship #MeaningfulMarketing #InnovationEngineering

📚 Boosting Innovation in Higher Education through Knowledge Sharing and Culture 📚 A recent study explored how knowledge sharing (KS) and innovative culture (IC) drive innovative behaviors (IB) in universities in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. Findings showed that KS directly enhances IC, quality of work life (QWL), and IB. While QWL didn’t significantly impact IB, IC played a key role in fostering innovative actions. For practical impact, universities are encouraged to foster IC through flexible schedules, fair promotions, and participatory decision-making, creating a culture where innovation can thrive. #Innovation #HigherEd #KnowledgeSharing #Culture https://lnkd.in/gve-HEjY
