Registration is open for our Oakland-based program where students will spend two weeks learning to save lives, respond to emergency situations, develop clinical skills, and learn from a variety of health professionals. Meet our newest Project Coordinator, Jennifer Mejia Nieto! Jennifer is a Bay Area native and holds a BS in Psychology from CSU East Bay. Prior to FACES, she has utilized her bilingual skills to host Spanish-speaking parent groups, offering psychoeducation and fostering a sense of community to better support their children, and contributed to the creation of a new 24-hour crisis facility for adolescents in Alameda County. Today my team and I relaunched our first completely in person Summer Medical Academy at Samuel Merritt University since the pandemic, and welcomed 40 wonderful high school students from across the Bay Area - all there to learn about the amazing profession of medicine and patient care.
