Fairstead was proud to participate in RETCON 2025 in Las Vegas, connecting with industry leaders to discuss the latest innovations shaping the future of real estate. A special thanks to our own Michael (Mick) Gilbert, Fairstead Ventures, for sharing insights during a session on New York City's Local Law 97 and strategies for advancing sustainable building practices. Fairstead proudly welcomed residents for a first look at a newly renovated unit at Chenoweth Woods Apartments in Louisville, Kentucky! The event brought joy to our residents and also further demonstrated Fairstead’s commitment to preserving affordable housing nationwide. Major upgrades underway include: 🏡 Modernized kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, windows & HVAC systems 📚 A brand-new library & business center 🌳 Outdoor enhancements such as a gazebo, picnic area, dog run & community garden ⚡ Energy efficiency upgrades including new rooftop solar panels Check out before and after photos demonstrating the high-quality upgrades we are doing at this affordable senior community in Kentucky. Celebrating Progress at Fairstead’s Yale Village Apartments in Houston, Texas! Recently, Fairstead was thrilled to host residents and key stakeholders, including Houston City Council Members Julian Ramirez and Willie Davis, for tours of a newly renovated unit at Yale Village Apartments. This tour marks the celebration of the transformation to come as a result of the more than $20 million investment being made across this 250-unit affordable community. We’re committed to building strong, connected communities across the state of Texas and can’t wait to see the impact that these renovations will have on our residents at Yale Village Apartments. Thank you to all of the community members who joined us and to our team members that were on the ground to make this event such a success!

Last week, our Development Team came together in sunny Delray Beach, Florida, for a team outing that focused on laying the foundation for a collaborative and impactful year ahead.   In addition to discussing our goals and pipeline, the team took time to reconnect and recharge ahead of what promises to be a busy year of continued growth nationwide.   From Houston, TX, to Alexandria, VA, and beyond we’re excited for all that’s to come!   #affordablehousing #fairstead

Fairstead’s team has been on the road, connecting with industry leaders and sharing insights at key conferences. Over the past month, we’ve been proud to attend: 🔹 SAHMA (Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association) Affordable Housing Conference: Georgia – Our Head of Property Management, Luai Abdallah, and Compliance Director, Breana Thomas, engaged with peers on best practices to strengthen affordable housing communities in the region. 🔹 NLHA Conference – Managing Director Noah Hale not only attended the NLHA Conference but joined a panel alongside industry experts to discuss Fairstead’s approach to public-private partnerships and the preservation of affordable housing. 🔹 Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition Annual Meeting – Our team reaffirmed our commitment to the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, joining key discussions on expanding the housing credit and supporting affordable housing opportunities nationwide. Each of these events reinforces our work to create and preserve quality, affordable homes for our residents while collaborating with industry partners to address our nation’s growing housing crisis. #AffordableHousing

A heartfelt thank you to our intern, Soala Ajienka, who recently joined us from the MIT Center for Real Estate and MIT School of Architecture and Planning (MIT SAP), where she is currently a graduate student. Soala joined our New York-focused development team, contributing to our commitment to creating a more affordable and inclusive city for all New Yorkers. A special shoutout to Fairstead’s incredible team members – including Ellen Shakespear, Lilah Brenowitz, Yuhan Hu, Sonya Mantell, Michael Kornspun, and Estelle C. – whose mentorship made Soala’s internship experience so meaningful and engaging. That’s why we’re excited to share our participation in NYSERDA's brand-new Clean Heat for All: Packaged Terminal Heat Pump (PTHP) Program. This impactful initiative is focused on finding new solutions to decarbonize communities in New York by: ✅ Expanding the use of zero-emission technology like PTHPs  ✅ Developing new innovative sustainability efforts Our very own Michael (Mick) Gilbert, Director of Energy and Sustainability, recently shared our excitement for this work at a Clean Heat for All event. Alongside other industry leaders, he talked about the range of ways Fairstead can collaborate and maximize this program's impact.
