FNC and the Boston Family Engagement Network marked an amazing year of nurturing families and supporting young children's development with a day of creativity in community: a Paint Party at Moakley Park for more than 20 BFEN staff members, followed by a celebratory luncheon. Congratulations to this dedicated and multitalented team of colleagues who create a network of care for Boston families!

About us
Through parenting education, early child development programs, coalition and community building, and training and capacity building, Family Nurturing Center of Massachusetts (FNC) partners with families and organizations to create nurturing environments where children can thrive. Our work is rooted in a deep understanding that parenting is learned and can radically shape a child’s future. Our team engages over 5,000 children and caregivers in Boston and trains more than 1,000 providers across the Commonwealth each year.

Check out Nayary's story, highlighted by Rodman for Kids. We are so proud that she and her mom Yesika are part of our community! Join us today in our 20th Rodman Ride for Kids and bring transformative family support to a new generation of Boston families: https://lnkd.in/eaa_JmBe
🌟 Today’s Partner Highlight Friday features the incredible Nayary from Family Nurturing Center of Massachusetts (FNC) 🌟 Nayary’s journey with FNC started before she could even walk! Her mother, Yesika, first connected with FNC through their Welcome Baby program, and from there, they participated in a Parent-Child Playgroup and the Nurturing Parenting Program. Yesika’s experience with FNC inspired her to become a Parent Partner, helping other new parents find the same support she did. Now, Nayary, a vibrant and responsible tween, is giving back by volunteering at FNC in age-appropriate ways—all while enjoying being a kid. Last fall, she and her mom were thrilled to attend Frozen: the Musical through Rodman for Kids' Theatre for Kids program! This year marks 20 years of partnership between Family Nurturing Center and Rodman for Kids. Nayary’s story is a beautiful reminder of the lasting impact that support, partnership, and collaboration can have on families. Look at these smiling faces! FNC's Director of Coalition and Community Building Tara Register Curry spoke with Senator Ed Markey this morning during his visit to the Dorchester Food Co-op. Tara chatted with Senator Markey (pictured with John Santos, DFC General Manager) about how we're collaborating with the Co-op to bring healthy food to families in our neighborhood. We're grateful for these partnerships, which expand our impact to help families thrive!

New on our blog: Check out our album from this summer's Nurturing Program graduations in Jackson Square and Chelsea, as well as a virtual Nurturing Fathers Program for Haitian Creole speakers. Each Nurturing Parenting Program is a feat of organization and commitment for both organizers and participants. We're so inspired by and proud of these families and facilitators! https://buff.ly/3LX6Tj5

We're so pleased to celebrate Black fatherhood today at FNC with the book launch of our partners the Black Male Artists Collective. A true labor of love 2 years in the making, "Black + Fatherhood = Love" is a photobook collecting the images and words of Black fathers in their local Boston communities, challenging and affirming narratives and stereotypes of Black fatherhood.

FNC was so honored to be among the recipients of an Expanding Engagement grant from the Age Strong Commission! The grant will fund a group for Cape Verdean grandparents—including discussion, outings, and resource referral—to improve wellbeing through community connections and social support. https://buff.ly/3zdMYZW

FNC was thrilled to celebrate the graduates of the spring 2024 Nurturing Parenting Program for Cape Verdean families at 200 Bowdoin Street on June 11. This bilingual, intergenerational program lifts up family and cultural ties, and has become a trusted resource and site of community over more than 20 years serving Cape Verdean families in Boston. We want to send a special shoutout to our volunteer partners from Loomis, Sayles & Company, Wellington Management, and CrossFit Launchpad. Thanks to their generosity, FNC was able to shower 30 new moms in the community with high-quality supplies to welcome a new little one at our June 1 event. The gift bags were finished with hand-decorated cards personalized to make each one feel special. We're so grateful to partner with these thoughtful and generous teams!
