Annenberg Investments Ltd and Farpoint Development have partnered to acquire 3450 Simmons Drive in Waycross, Georgia — a Class-A industrial property with a total building area of 217,500 square feet, set on 42 acres of land. The main building, constructed in 2004, features 202,500 square feet of warehouse space and 15,000 square feet of office space, and was built using concrete tilt wall construction with 50' x 50' column spacing. Moreover, the building is expandable, with knockout panels allowing for an additional 100,000 square feet of space. Located in Southeast Georgia, Waycross offers convenient regional access to markets in both North Florida and Coastal Georgia, including Jacksonville, Florida (1.5 hours), Brunswick, Georgia (1 hour), and Savannah, Georgia (2 hours), and the East Coast's largest and deepwater ocean ports. The property is situated ~1 mile from the largest CSX computerized rail yard on the East Coast, solidifying its status as the central hub for all rail traffic in the southeastern region. Six distinct CSX lines intersect in Waycross, providing unparalleled direct access to various areas within the southeastern United States. Eric Helfand, Principal at Farpoint shares, "Waycross sits at a premier key crossroads in the Southeastern United States, and is perfectly positioned as a hub for commerce, industry and transportation. Due to its valuable location, businesses can more effectively ship goods by rail, truck, or ocean freight. The region boasts robust economic development growth, with a diverse array of manufacturing, logistics, and distribution companies taking advantage of Waycross' strategic location and transportation infrastructure." David Cooper Annenberg, Partner at Annenberg Investments says, "Building upon our partnership with Farpoint Development, we are excited to continue the success story of what we achieved working together on a similar commercial property in Clinton, South Carolina. We are confident that this industrial facility in Waycross, Georgia will become a thriving industrial hub, attracting top tenants and setting the standard for excellence in the region." @WorldBusinessChicago aptly states: "...this re-imagination of North Michigan Avenue is highly relevant given the changes in consumer habits, expectations, and lifestyles resulting from the pandemic…. – it is urgently poised for reinvention. Chicago's economy, job market, global reputation, and culture depend on it." Alongside our partners @SaxonyCapital, with 830 North Michigan Avenue, we're fully committed to the conversation about the evolution of this world-renowned, iconic Chicago boulevard.
WBC Board Member Company Gensler has a beautiful vision of Chicago's Magnificent Mile. From a pedestrian-friendly beach connection to new spaces and attractions in Jane Byrne Park, Gensler's renderings of a revamped North Michigan Avenue show a view of Chicago's lakefront that feels familiar yet boldly innovative. But is such an ambitious re-imagining of the Magnificent Mile necessary? The answer, of course, is yes. Reinvestment is crucial for global high streets to deliver as economic engines for their respective cities continually. North Michigan Avenue was ready for its next evolution prior to COVID, having not seen major transformation since the 1990s, but today – given the changes in consumer habits, expectations, and lifestyles resulting from the pandemic – it is urgently poised for reinvention. Chicago’s economy, job market, global reputation, and culture depend on it. What do you think about the project? Do you see yourself enjoying the changes Gensler has to offer? We want to know, Chicago. For more information and images of the project, view below: Crain's Chicago Business : https://bit.ly/3S1x5we Gensler Project overview: https://bit.ly/4eUxNp2

Farpoint Summer Intern Macy Verhasselt discusses her interests and what she's looking forward to doing this summer: “Real estate project management interests me most because it’s so rewarding to see the property from start to project completion... I enjoy collaborating with large groups of people, all working together towards a common goal.” Our interns are a phenomenal (and fun) addition to our team, and it's an honor to help foster the beginnings of what will surely be incredible careers. #FarpointDevelopment #RealEstateInternships #CareerGrowth

Yash Behati, our summer intern here at Farpoint Development, shares why real estate excites him. He says, "Market analysis and financing are fascinating aspects of real estate development." I am fascinated by market analysis because it involves making strategic decisions based on market trends, identifying opportunities, and making predictions about the future of real estate development. Financing—because of how it determines the viability and scope of a project through understanding the deal structure, securing funding, and managing financial risk to ensure that the project is positioned for success.” We are delighted to see Yash's enthusiasm for these key areas. Keep an eye out for more updates on his journey! #FarpointDevelopment #RealEstateInternships #CareerGrowth

An estimated 500,000 Americans – including more than 50,000 families – are homeless. Finding shelter for them is first and foremost, but four walls and a roof often fall short of what they need. Each year, the entire Farpoint team volunteers with Humble Design (@humblechitown) to create a home with dignity for a previously homeless family in Chicago. This incredible nonprofit provides items like lighting, cookware, bedding, and toys, to help furnish places for these families so that the space becomes more than just a space – it becomes a home. Here are some photos from our work with Humble Design in late 2023, and we look forward to working with them again this holiday season.
