Congratulations to Dr. Nico Victorino for winning a 2024 Terrel H. Bell Award; an award that honors principals from this year's National Blue Ribbon Schools for their exceptional leadership. Dr. Victorino, principal of PS 150 in NYC, has made a huge impact since stepping into the role—doubling enrollment and boosting student achievement! With a passion for education inspired by his own journey as an immigrant from the Philippines, he’s a true leader who believes in the power of learning to change lives. We were thrilled to have him join us in Oxford this August for the Summit for Education and Education-Adjacent Leaders, where he shared his passion for transformative education. 🎉 This week, we had the honor of joining Zone 126 for their College & Career Speed Chat 'n' Chew Event at Long Island City High School! These monthly gatherings create meaningful opportunities for students to connect with community members over lunch, gaining valuable networking skills and career insights. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, professionals of Hispanic and Latine descent—from the Fund for the City of New York, NYPD Community Affairs, NYPD Housing Bureau, the Queens District Attorney's Office, and more—came together to speak on their experiences and inspire the next generation. Our own Program Manager, Cesar Ventura Tapia, was excited to share his journey through college and career with the students. 👏👏👏 Let's give a round of applause to Dr Anju J. Rupchandani and Zone126 for organizing such a powerful event! It’s amazing to see young people find inspiration in professionals who represent their communities and show them what’s possible.
