Victoria and her son, Sasha, live in #Ukraine. Before finding the iCare team with FMSC partner Mission Eurasia, they were struggling — Victoria couldn't find work to provide for her son and herself. She also worried about Sasha's isolation. He had little interaction with friends because regular shelling had forced him to study online instead of in a classroom for two years. But at the Reimer Center in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, mother and son found physical, emotional and spiritual needs met. They were given packages of food, including MannaPack® Rice. Victoria shared that Sasha loves to eat the food and that it has been life-changing. In addition to meals, Sasha also began attending community events at the Reimer Center. He made friends and learned about the Bible, which he and Victoria now read together. Food is important. It is the foundation for so many needs — physical and beyond. MannaPack meals are being used every day by our partners around the world to provide for these needs. Fund more meals: fmsc.org/give #foodisthefoundation #feedingkids

Gabriel was nearly 3 years old but weighed only 6 pounds. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸® 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. His grandmother, Imelda, feared the worst as she watched him grow weaker. She was heartbroken. Imelda laid Gabriel on one of her dresses to keep him comfortable; he didn’t look like he would live much longer. Then, Imelda’s friend stopped by, worried about her friend. She told Imelda about FMSC partner African Children Today (ACT). She’d heard they could help even very malnourished children. After receiving FMSC food from ACT and eating MannaPack meals for a few months, Gabriel grew to 18 pounds! These meals saved his life. Gabriel's grandmother is an artisan with FMSC MarketPlace partner Hope Again Women. She now supports Gabriel with the handwoven baskets she weaves. When David* was just 3 years old, he was more than 4 pounds underweight. And on his tiny toddler frame, 4 pounds too little was a big deal. David was skinny and frail. His hair was dry and dull. When he should have been running and playing, he was lethargic and weak.   “He often cries and gets distressed easily,” said his mother, Joy. She knew her son was undernourished and was trying desperately to help him. She asked for vitamins at a local health center. “I thought it would help [David] improve his appetite and gain weight.” But his health and his weight continued to decline.   Then Joy learned of the home-based feeding program run by FMSC food distribution partner International Care Ministries (ICM). She promptly enrolled David.   As a part of the program, Joy received nutrition education as well as nutrient-dense MannaPack® meals for her family. Joy was so relieved. She was equipped with both the knowledge and the food her son needed. ICM health trainers regularly checked in with the family along the way.   Much to Joy’s delight, David surpassed his goal weight within the next 11 weeks. He became active and playful and his face seemed to glow with health. Joy was amazed at the transformation. “He’s now cheerful and energetic!” She is confident that she now has what she needs to maintain David’s health — as well as her own. “I gained knowledge … and because of this my son’s condition got addressed. As a mother, I must teach my children to eat healthy food!” Fund life changing meals: fmsc.org/give   *Names changed for privacy. #feedingkids #foodisthefoundation
