Last Friday the US Bureau of Labor Statistics released the monthly jobs report for the month of February. While there seems to be an element of uncertainty in the market day-to-day, these reports continue to indicate that the labor market is stable. The unemployment rate came in at 4.1%, continuing to remain in the narrow range of 4.0% to 4.2% since May 2024. Job growth was 151K, coming in under the forecasted growth of 170K. In terms of growth, the healthcare industry added 52K jobs, as well as financial activities adding 21K, transportation & warehousing adding 18K, and social assistance adding 11K.
