I’m happy to share that I’ve completed my Bachelors of Social Work at University of Cincinnati!

Jen’s six years in prison were a wake up call. She spent her time behind bars educating herself and confronting her past trauma through therapy- and came out stronger on the other side. As a firsthand Guide (Peer Support Specialist), Jen is able to leverage her lived experience to offer empathy, support, and practical help to others. She leads by example that one's past does not dictate their future. I want thank Health Connect America for for the opportunity to develop, lead, and grow their therapeutic foster care program for the State of Tennessee. The program has achieved phenomenal outcomes for the children and families we served. I would also like to thank Brandi Haws, LPC, regional vp for the support and guidance in building a successful program. I am so proud of the work we did together and I will always be grateful for my time with the company. Now, I am excited for my next opportunity as Director of Community Operations at firsthand. 7 years on my recovery journey. On July 30, 2017, I drank the last drink I would ever have, ending my use of all mind-altering substances. Many of you know my story, while some are just getting to know me, and tragically, some never got the chance to know me because their lives were cut short so to this disease. That version of me doesn’t exists anymore but I will never forget her.Today I am living my dreams life I once only dreamed of. Today, I am proud of the life I live, and I show up for my children, who trust that when I leave, I will return. I have rebuilt broken relationships and now show up for myself, my family, and my community. People enjoy being around me, I am a leader in my community and online and I am using my strong testimony as a testament to what God can do and the power of His amazing grace. I have dedicated my life in recovery to helping others who are and were just like me and the person you see on the left. Addiction doesn’t discriminate and all of us have a life that is worthy of living if we can find our way out. I am here to help inspire those around me and to lend a hand to those in need.
