The Scholarships for Military Children Program was created to recognize military families' contributions to the fighting force's readiness and to celebrate the commissary's role in the military family community. Army veteran Thomas Queen and his wife, Michelle, knew each other from an early age. They started dating around the time Thomas began to have neurological episodes. Now, decades later, the couple has fought through multiple sclerosis and cancer treatments their whole married life, often staying at the District of Columbia VA Medical Center. #FisherHouse #homeawayfromhome #military #family

The last thing a family needs to worry about is where they will stay when their service member is injured. Through donated hotel reward points, our Hotels for Heroes Program provides hotel rooms to families of wounded, injured, & ill military service members who are undergoing treatment at authorized medical centers when a Fisher House is not available.
