Expect the best, but prepare for the worst. This morning, multiple Town departments and local agencies put that well-known adage into practice. The Flower Mound Fire Department hosted a simulated Mass Casualty Incident that involved transporting eight "patients" to local hospitals. While crews worked at the incident scene, staff at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) worked through patient tracking and the various aspects of the recovery phase of the incident. The EOC also worked with our County and State partners regarding the use of a Family Assistance Center for those affected. A special thanks to all the involved agencies: ➡ Flower Mound Fire and Police Departments ➡ Town staff from Parks and Recreation, Public Works, IT and GIS, Communications, Strategic Services, and more ➡ Denton County Office of Emergency Management ➡ Grapevine Fire Department ➡ PHI Air Medical Denton ➡ Denton County Public Health ➡ Medical City Lewisville ➡ Medical City Denton ➡ Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Grapevine ➡ Texas Division of Emergency Management

Check out our crib! Our firefighters spend 48 hours at a time on duty, so our stations really are like a second home to them. In this video, see what they do in their down time, how they secure their ice cream from different shifts, and of course, get a peek at the slick rides in the garage. Local to Flower Mound and want more? Check out our crib in person, tour our fire trucks, see safety demonstrations, and more during our Open House on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station #5 (800 Spinks Rd.).
