Congratulations to the team at the BASF Zhanjiang Verbund Site – IOU Cluster Group in China for achieving a remarkable safety milestone – 50 million hours without a lost-time injury. “The BASF Verbund Site IOU Cluster Group team has implemented a comprehensive and tailored HSE management system built on Fluor’s Safer Together approach,” said Charles McManemin, President, Chemicals business line. “It incorporates cutting edge tools and technologies, best practices and continuous improvement through worker feedback and lessons learned from daily operations.” Upon completion, the Zhanjiang Verbund Site will produce 1 million metric tons of ethylene per annum and downstream consumer-oriented products. To date, mechanical completion has been achieved on several site components, with more components expected to be completed throughout the year as Fluor continues to support BASF with overall site commissioning and startup.  #BuildingABetterWorld
