Focused Energy is building on that work with several of the very same scientists that achieved the historic breakthrough. This week, our scientist Valeria Ospina Bohórquez had the opportunity to present at the 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐇𝐏𝐂 𝐔𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 2024 in Amsterdam.🔝 A fantastic event dedicated to sharing knowledge and showcasing the projects that are pushing the boundaries of innovation with European HPC supercomputing resources. ▶️ During the Physics & Chemistry Parallel session, Valeria highlighted 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐇𝐏𝐂 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 for conducting advanced simulations of various physical processes, enabling us to refine and optimize our target designs. These simulations are crucial in driving the next steps in our laser fusion technology. The facility will house the world’s most advanced high-energy prototype inertial fusion lasers critical to developing commercially viable fusion and unlocking limitless, clean energy. We are building this facility in the Bay Area because it will enable us to draw from the incredible pool of talent in the region as we pursue our work to commercialize fusion. Our approach – direct drive laser fusion – builds upon the path breaking work conducted at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory that achieved net energy gain for the first time in December 2022. We have already established a fuel targetry lab in Darmstadt, Germany. In fact, the International Energy Agency (IEA) forecasts that AI use will double by 2026, consuming roughly the same amount of electricity as Japan. Minister Mansoori praised our company's expansion and strong regional investment, stating, "Focused Energy is making a significant contribution to the innovation and future viability of our economy. This clear commitment to Germany as a business location also strengthens the economic power of the entire region." A Successful Two Days at HTVD 2024 in Dresden.    Huge thanks to the team behind HTVD | HIGHTECH VENTURE DAYS for putting together one of the best-organized events we’ve attended!
