SMU Cox School of Business MS in Real Estate candidates visited The Star in Frisco, diving into the making of a successful mixed-use development. A special thank you goes out to The Star’s incredible retail/office leasing and management team at Lincoln Property Company including Shawn Fullam, Christa Thigpen, and Mandi Wester, RPA®. The team discussed the various phases of the project, touching on city and corporate partnerships, design solutions, and integration of the Cowboys’ branding throughout The Star community. Students were also welcomed by the management team of Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star, gaining a better understanding of the importance of world-class full-service hospitality offering. We sincerely appreciate Cesar Almonte and César Citrón León providing students with a behind the scenes tour of this upscale Cowboys’ themed hotel. Last week, Jason Signor, CEO of Big Sky Medical, led a masterclass on healthcare real estate for our Southern Methodist University MSRE students as part of their Applied Real Estate Practice course. Jason discussed the advantages and challenges of investment trends in healthcare real estate, emphasizing the increasing demand driven by the aging population, outlined various types of healthcare facilities, explained key terminology and legal considerations, and explored career paths and case studies related to developing and capitalizing healthcare projects.
