    3 actions we get wrong about our planet: (and what to do about it) 1) recycling 🚫 has very little impact on your CO2 footprint ✅ The best waste is no waste. Limit consumption. 2) buying an EV car 🚫 EV's CO2 footprint is higher than ICE's at purchase ✅ longer, shared, or no car ownership = higher impact 3) eating a plant-based diet 🚫 only 20% of folks believe this actually matters ✅ it's one of the greenest personal actions you can do I am especially concerned about the recycling myth. Recycling is THE most googled green action in 2024. But in reality, it barely makes a dent. To stop this, we need to go circular. Minimise waste, limit consumption & close the loop.     🍒 𝐀 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭-𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩?! 🥕 What is this new term again and why are we talking about it? 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭-𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝? Plant-forward eating emphasizes the importance of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes as the central components of meals. It allows for moderate consumption of animal products but focuses on making plants the star of your plate. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭? In our grandmas' (or for the younger readers: our grandmas' grandmas') time, meat only came to our plates once or twice per week, and eating lots of meats was considered only during celebrations. Today however, there is a rising trend of meat consumption and "meat-based" food is considered to be the default (try and ask for a vegan food in a typical restaurant in a Hungarian countryside). This meat-based orientation is coming at a high environmental cost, therefore meat consumption should be reduced - both for planetary and for personal health reasons. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩 This is why our recipe app is plant-forward. Not vegan or plant-based because with that we lose the majority of potential users. Our goal is to nudge our users to be brave(r) and try out delicious vegan foods that were tested on families (ours, for example) before. We will also include meat-based recipes, offered by one of the best culinary schools in Hungary (recipes recommended by youngsters studying there) but will challenge users to eat more plant-based foods than before. Es una aplicación de FOODITY que ofrece recetas ricas para aumentar la diversidad en tus menús. Las recetas no las crea una Inteligencia Artificial. Pero sí la usan para ayudarte a filtrar según tus gustos y necesidades. Buscan implicar a las familias y crear comunidad a través de la gamificación. O eso es lo que prometen en la web. Suena interesante, ¿verdad? A veces es un poco cansado buscar recetas nuevas para variar lo que comemos en casa. Así que me viene de perlas. La app todavía está en desarrollo, así que me he apuntado como beta tester. Y tú, ¿cómo eliges las recetas que cocinas? ¿Eres más de ir improvisando menús o repites cada cierto tiempo? FOODITY is developing an app offering delicious recipes to diversify your meals. These recipes aren't AI-generated, but AI helps you filter them based on your preferences and needs. They aim to engage families and build community through gamification—at least that's what their website promises. Sounds intriguing, right? Finding new recipes to spice up home-cooked meals can be tiring, so this app is perfect for me. The app is still in development, and I've signed up as a beta tester. How do you choose what to cook?     🙄 Meat consumption is growing world-wide and is backed by industries, politics and big business. However, this trend is terrible for the planet and it is clear we need to reduce meat consumption for us and the planet to become healthier. How to do that? 🙄 😎 As a communication and education agency working with behavior change, we turn to social psychology to see what kind of tools are available for us. One powerful tool is social marketing and raising the social acceptance of plant-based foods. 👉 Studies show that focus on taste in communication beats health and sustainability, therefore at The Kitchen Adventure app we are relying on taste first and foremost and ask our amazing chef to prepare the most delicious plant-based recipes possible. Our recipes are not "alternatives" or "substitutes" to meat: we offer recipes where it does not even occur to anyone's mind that they are eating these foods "instead" of eating "normal" food. 👀 Meet our latest star: the red lentil dahl.
