The national network for young people in foster care.

About us

FosterClub's mission is to lead the efforts of young people in and from foster care to become connected, educated, inspired and represented so they can realize their personal potential and contribute to a better life for their peers. We believe that young people in and from foster care deserve to be: CONNECTED to a peer support network and to people in the community who care EDUCATED about their rights, how the foster care system works, self-advocacy strategies, and how to locate resources to help them succeed INSPIRED and empowered through the stories of people who have succeeded after foster care REPRESENTED by having their voices heard by policy makers, the public, and others who influence the system that profoundly impacts their lives Our professional staff supports and guides young Lived Experience Leaders (LEx) as they advocate for improvements to the child welfare system, provide peer support to other young people in foster care, and raise their voices to bring awareness to the challenges that foster youth overcome every day. With our LEx Leaders and our partner agencies, FosterClub envisions a future where foster care doesn't suck. We have two program teams: Youth Programs, which provides direct support, services, and resources to young people; and System Change, which fights to bring attention and influence change at the federal, state, tribal, and local levels. To keep up to date on all things FosterClub, please visit our website and sign up for updates.

“I have to, you know, go back to school and just act like that didn't happen.” – Anaya Carter, 2024 FosterClub AllStar intern (pictured below center, age 24, 3 years in Texas and Georgia’s foster care systems), reflecting on growing up in foster care. Back to school can be especially challenging for young people in foster care. Many are starting at a brand-new school this fall and facing financial, logistical, and emotional struggles without the same support their peers receive. That’s where FosterClub comes in. We’re here to provide the community, resources, and understanding they need to navigate these transitions. Join the movement and make a difference. Donate today: https://lnkd.in/geHn8hhW
