Great news for Parker County: The new Willow Creek Road opened in time for the new school year, ensuring smoother commutes for parents, teachers and school buses. The improvements were made possible by the 2023 Parker County Transportation Bond Program. Freese and Nichols facilitated collaboration among key stakeholders, including the Texas Department of Transportation, the Town of Peaster, Parker County and Peaster ISD on this project, which eases traffic flow around school campuses. Our #Georgia teams made a "pawsitive" impact by raising $700 for PAWS Atlanta and helping the staff at the no-kill animal shelter set up their new intake area. Our volunteers also enjoyed spending time with puppies and kittens and meeting Cleon Woofers, PAWS Atlanta's social ambassador.
Thanks to Freese and Nichols for volunteering with us earlier this month! They helped us prepare our new Isolation Unit (which is almost ready!) by moving crates, furniture, and supplies into the unit so it'll be ready to house animals soon. They also helped our team wrap up their morning tasks by collecting food bowls, water pails, and even cleaning out and spraying down the outdoor runs. This allowed our team to provide more attention, training, and enrichment for our pups. ➡️ If you're interested in volunteering with us, we would love to host you! We're now scheduling for the fall, so reach out soon to Sam at slong@pawsatlanta.org

When you were a kid, did you ever wonder why you kept drifting down the beach as you played in the ocean? The answer is a force known as longshore sediment transport. Understanding sediment transport is crucial for designing effective #coastalprotection and #restoration projects that preserve our beaches and protect residents along the coast. Partnering with the Texas General Land Office, our #coastal teams are diving deeper into the science behind sand movement to learn how beaches shrink and grow over time.
