Abortion is a human right. Bodily autonomy is a human right. Reproductive freedom is a human right. It’s not new. It’s not complicated.

Reproductive Justice analyzes power systems, looks at white supremacy and systemic racism, addresses intersecting oppressions, and centers the most marginalized. As Audre Lorde said, “There is no such thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives." But that also means that the people doing this work have these intersecting lives while they deal with trauma, emotional toll, exhaustion, and much more because they show up every day to support others. In order to ensure workers are being taken care of, disrupting the status quo by building caring work spaces is of utmost importance. Join us, alongside our partners Texas Equal Access Fund and Avow, on April 30th from 12- 1 pm at this virtual panel for Texas Woman's University School of Social Work in how to create caring work spaces. Today is Giving Tuesday! Did you know that you can double your donation through your employer’s matching gift program? Check with your human resources team today and help twice as many Texans travel to their out-of-state appointments! Now more than ever, Texans must rely on their own communities for support when accessing out-of-state abortions. Requiring people to travel for abortion care comes with a lot of additional costs, so Fund Texas Choice turns your generosity into real resources for Texans needing abortions! #givingtuesday #abortion #proabortion #travelsupport #texasabortion #practicalsupport #reproductivejustice #abortionfund #practicalsupportfund #reproductiverights #texanssupportingtexans #supportreproductiverights

Fund Texas Choice is disgusted by the continued anti-abortion attacks in Texas, where we have been living under an abortion ban for two years. The cruel masterminds behind SB 8 have been helping local governments pass local laws that allow any person to sue someone they suspect of helping an abortion seeker that drives through the city or county for an out-of-state abortion. These ordinances are likely unconstitutional – they are a cruel and malicious tactic intended to instill fear among abortion seekers and those who support them, to confuse people about what care is available to them, and to empower people to stalk, harass, and sue abortion seekers and their supporters. Anna Rupani, Executive Director of Fund Texas Choice, said: “As the first practical support organization in the state, we are acutely aware of how far and wide Texans have to travel to access their abortion. Texas lawmakers’ insistence on policing individuals’ reproductive healthcare by banning the use of roads assumes that Texans are not deserving or able to make their own decisions over their bodies. The people who draft and pitch these ‘use of road abortion bans’ to local governments want to instill fear, cause confusion, and increase surveillance among Texans; this is a vile attempt to prevent people from seeking legal abortion care out of state.”
