We had an incredible time today learning from UGA FACS Alumni Shaun Golden from GOLDEN OPP 4 YOU INC. Shaun works with youth as a motivational speaker, helping kids, teens, and young adults build resilience against everyday stress.

A new study from the Youth Development Institute suggests Black youth are paying an emotional toll of higher anxiety and depression due to racism. This study, published in JAMA Network Open, analyzed survey responses and brain imaging data from over 1500 Black youth in the U.S.

Congratulations to YDI student Linhao Zhang for achieving the Graduate School Dissertation Completion Award! Linhao's dissertation will use three studies to examine the impact of sleep on neural development and adolescent risk for psychopathology.

Congrats to YDI alum Mallory R Cotton for being awarded the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship! GRFP recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who have demonstrated the potential to be high achieving scientists and engineers, early in their careers.

A HUGE round of applause for our undergrad researchers who presented at the CURO symposium Monday! These students have worked incredibly hard this semester on multiple research projects and translating science in the community.
