Games for Change India Festival in Pune, and what an experience. Big shoutout to UNESCO MGIEP and RUBIKA Pune for bringing together a community driven to create real impact through games. As a Lead Creative Designer, the event was a game-changer. It reinforced how critical it is to rethink traditional models and focus on purpose-driven design. Hearing so many innovative approaches to social change through games inspired me to explore new strategies for One Creatives —from integrating empathy-driven narratives to experimenting with impactful storytelling techniques. Thanks a lot for whoever involved the this wonderful event 👏 The energy and vision in the room were incredible—this is just the beginning. #G4CIndia #GamesForChange 🐈⬛ One Creatives: onecreatives.in

Head of Youth & Family, k-ID, shaping the future of the internet for kids and teens globally | TEDx Speaker on Gaming for Good | Technology Lawyer | Educate, Enable, Empower
🌟 Super delighted and honoured to be invited to speak on the "Child Rights and Protection in the Digital Age" panel with Afrooz Kaviani Johnson (Child Protection Specialist, UNICEF); Shuli Gilutz, Ph.D. (Programme Officer, Child Rights & Digital Business, UNICEF), moderated by Cecilia D'Anastasio (Reporter, Bloomberg News) at the Games and SDG Summit by Games for Change at the United Nations in New York! 👾 "Children are digital natives, and the internet isn’t going anywhere. This panel will explore the challenges and opportunities presented by technology, discussing how we can protect children while nurturing their growth and creativity online." 🎮 The Summit is an invitation-only event that brings together the Games Industry with different parts of the UN along with other social impact organisations for a full day of programming dedicated to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals across the games and immersive sectors. Through keynote talks, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops, the Summit aims to inform, inspire, and identify relevant and meaningful opportunities that bridge sectors. 💫 This will be my second time at the UN in New York. I was last there in July 2023, after I had participated in a panel on "Ethics & AI" at the World Law Congress by the World Law Foundation. Very much looking forward to being back and feeling beyond lucky to be given the chance to do so as part of my job as Head of Youth & Family at k-ID. 🔗 Check out the Games and SDG Summit here: https://lnkd.in/gy_JYEs6. Looking forward to connecting with the other speakers Anjali Bhimani, Jackie Jones, Poonacha Machaiah, Madeline Di Nonno, Karen Stritzinger, Marléne Tamlin, Sarah Ticho, Lindsay Watson, Angad Singh Malik, Tai (Green) Wingfield, Jess Lanzillo, Leo Olebe, Raashi Sikka (she/her), Paul Skoczylas, David Stelzer, Eric Zimmerman, Karla Reyes, Donnetta Campbell, Matthew and Stephanie Patrick, Amir Dossal, Rebecca Jones, Darko Petrovic 🔜 Games and SDG Summit, Garance Sarlat, Diane Urban, and Lynn Fiellin, MD and those attending! 🙏 Special thanks to Susanna Pollack and her team at Games for Change and Michele Spring Fajeau (she/her) and her team at Zebra Partners for organising and coordinating this amazing opportunity. 📣 Shout out if you'll be there - let's connect, collaborate and create a safer and more inclusive online world for kids and teens globally. #onlinesafety #childprotection #protect #educate #enable #empower #kidentify #kid #child #children #safety #inclusivity

Multi-Award winning Immersive Creator & Change Maker | International Speaker | Innovation Strategist | Somaesthetic Designer | FRSA
One of the hardest things about travelling is accommodation. Staying in soulless hotels can often create a disconnect to the city - and bankrupt you along the way. As an independent creator working grant to grant, with the odd bits of consultancy jobs here and there hotels are not always an option. I have embarked on this trip with a small amount of financial support and reckless faith that it will work out. And so far, I have really lucked out by being connected with some kind hearted creatives who have opened their doors and lives to me. This past week in Sydney I was lucky to stay with Pippa Bailey and Mike, who kindly let me stay in their magical spare room - compete with a book case door. We met via a special audio dating performance by Professor Jorge Lopes Ramos earlier this year, when she travelled overground (that's right, no planes) from Sydney to London and back. Pippa is a brilliant cultural producer doing important work across climate justice and supporting indigenous artists across Australia, whilst Mike is an incredible researcher at UNSW specialising in renewable energy whose work informs government policy. They also have a connection to Brighton where they used to run pyrotechnic performance company The World Famous. By total coincidence are also friends with my neighbour Petra Coveney! Alongside exploring SXSW Sydney together, Pippa invited me to join her at Redfern Community Centre for a choir led by a local indigenous artist. Yesterday we spent the morning painting the ballastrades in the garden, which was so soothing after a chaotic week of running from talk to talk. I have felt my brain expanding, learning so much from her and Mike across the nuances of the Australian arts community, how to amplify and work with indigenous voices and create spaces to enable meaningful change. After a heart aching goodbye, I landed at Byron Bay Film Festival, led by my snake headed monster tattoo twin J'aimee Skippon-Volke. She has arranged a very special stay with local royalty and living legend Rusty Miller: the 1965 USA Surf Champion. 80 years old and still hitting the waves in between writing books and teaching surflings. I'm already enjoying hearing all their stories, and was treated to a sunrise walk up to the lighthouse. I may even nab a surf lesson from the pro himself if I play my cards right. I'm travelling to New York this week because as you may have seen my posts already - Soul Paint is showing at the Games for Change event at the United Nations exploring the role of Games in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. UPDATE: Thank you to all the kind people who reached out. I've found a home with a very special friend who I can't wait to catch up & trick or treat with next week! You can also support me and my work here. https://lnkd.in/escQbvyy Thank you ❤️
