Last Saturday, Garden Spot Village hosted a summer fair, bringing together team members, residents and the children in their lives for a day of joy and connection. Despite the heat in Lancaster County, refreshing watermelon and popsicles kept everyone cool and cheerful. It is always a privilege to witness intergenerational connections flourishing, with children engaging with their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and family friends. The excitement was all around as everyone enjoyed a magic show, face painting, a reptile show from Refreshing Mountain and much more. Thank you to everyone who braved the heat to kick off summer with us and celebrate the power of community and family connections. #intergenerational #StartOfSummer #LivingInCommunity #Community

As part of SAGE's 30th anniversary celebration this year, we are featuring some of the great minds that make SAGE such a fantastic organization. Let's get to know a little more about Steve Lindsey, CEO of Garden Spot Communities. How long have you been in the senior living industry? 25+ years Who or what inspired you to go into the industry? A close relationship with my grandparents, as well as older adults in our church, gave me a genuine appreciation for the impact that can be had in this later season of life, so being able to encourage that sense purpose in life as I serve in this field has been an honor and a blessing. What are you most proud of/what’s the biggest impact you’ve made? Having the opportunity to help cultivate a sense of vibrant community, where people are discovering a renewed sense of purpose and impact has been rewarding. We were blessed to get involved in the person-centered household movement in the early years and were inspired by the impact that environment and culture can have on the lives of people. Share something interesting about you...a fun fact! Preferably not work related. I ran 15 marathons before my knees reminded me that each season of life has its own adventure… still searching for what adventure awaits in this season. Now...let's learn a little more about YOU! Active SAGE members can visit https://lnkd.in/gYhf68vr to share a little about themselves for future Member Spotlights! #seniorliving #greatminds #soreknees
