We’re excited to be returning to Penn State for the 2025 ASCE Mid-Atlantic East & West Student Symposium! ASCE Student Symposiums are a great way for students to meet like-minded individuals and network with others while having fun. From Thursday, March 27th to Saturday, March 29th, representatives from Gateway will be in attendance and judging the survey competition! Come visit us at the ECoRE building on Friday for breakfast and a career fair, or at Lake Perez on Saturday to see our drone set up. Last month, Gateway Engineers participated in BotsIQ's 4th annual Girls Exploring Engineering Day! Over 170 girls from local middle and high schools attended to learn more about the world of engineering. Gateway facilitated a hands-on activity in which participants designed the layout of a park, encouraging them to explore their creativity while explaining the engineering behind it. Gateway is proud to support initiatives like this that highlight the importance of STEM in the local community. Gateway Engineers’ 2025 Training Plan is off to a strong start, with employees having already spent over 1,000 combined hours attending in-house sessions about Project Management, Wellness, Stormwater, Grading, and more! With 15+ different series offerings, we have the opportunity to learn a little bit about a lot or dive into more specific practice areas. Gateway Engineers recently partnered with the Pittsburgh Lions Club to host an eyeglasses collection event. Through donations from employees and individuals in the Greater Pittsburgh Area, members of the Pittsburgh Lions Club processed and packed over 2,000 pairs of glasses at Gateway’s headquarters last Saturday. Lions Clubs International "Recycle for Sight" program gives children and adults living in low-income communities around the world the chance to experience corrected vision for the first time. Once used glasses have been collected, they are scanned to determine the optics of each pair, cleaned, and sorted by prescription. They are then distributed to various organizations who circulate them in the U.S. and around the world to people that don’t have access to glasses. We would like to thank Bill Lestitian, President of the Pittsburgh Lions Club and Gateway Engineers General Counsel, for organizing the event and would like to offer a special thank you to everyone who donated. We could not have done it without you!

Pre-gamed “The Big Game” with our annual SOUPerbowl party last Friday. Gateway employees were surrounded by educational facts on the national event and were able to consume some of their favorite soups! Employees were also able to participate in a company block poll! Congrats Liam Hodgson for predicting the correct outcome!
