Last week, Genvax Technologies hosted a tour at their facility in the Iowa State University Research Park for elected officials, including Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig; congressional office staff; and every major livestock commodity group CEO and staff. The facility tour was followed by an engaging discussion on foreign animal diseases, including the recent outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza, and the work Genvax is doing to develop vaccines against these top disease threats. New vaccines, like those being developed at Genvax, will be essential to protecting our livestock industry, food supply and public health.
