On Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady, NY, GE Aerospace Research members, community leaders and friends gathered to watch the premiere of Never Give Up, a documentary about our very own Dr. Marshall Jones. The Sankofa African American 3D Museum, a virtual museum whose mission is to highlight great figures and moments in black history, heard about Marshall’s extraordinary story and wanted to create a documentary to share his positivity with others. We were joined by Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy, NYS Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, and representatives from Congressman Tonko and State Senator Jim Tedisco, who all presented Marshall with commendations, proclamations, and other honors. It was truly a special night to celebrate our very own legendary, Inventors Hall of Fame, laser research pioneer, Dr. Marshall Jones! Between 150-200 people attended a pre-screening reception we hosted at Proctor’s Theatre. Below are some pictures highlighting key moments from the event.
