About us

There are a billion good intentions tucked inside each and every one of us. At GoFundMe, we believe that the impulse to help a person, fix a neighborhood, or change a nation should never be ignored. In fact, it should be shared with the entire world. That’s why we make it easy to inspire the world and turn your compassion into action. By giving people the tools they need to capture and share their story far and wide, we have built a community of more than 200 million donors and helped organizers raise over $15 billion for the causes important to them—and we are just getting started. We were thrilled to partner with an Eras Tour livestreamer during Taylor Swift's final US shows in Indianapolis, helping Swifties raise more than $35,000 for domestic violence survivors through local nonprofit Coburn Place Safe Haven. After originally setting a goal of $13,000, livestreamer Tess Bohne increased it several times as donations poured in from viewers watching the stream, which included a QR code and displayed real-time fundraiser activity through GoFundMe’s new streaming widgets. "I feel like because of Taylor's music, you get to know people on a deep level, and I think that's why they're so charitable, or so understanding, or just have such compassion and I think that's why this was so much greater than I expected it to be," she told the The Indianapolis Star of the fundraiser's success. The fundraiser is still live if you're moved to donate: https://gfme.co/3UEmd8V Find Tess on TikTok for the next one: https://lnkd.in/gNdrHDGg

Coworkers who care 💚 We think we know why the New York Yankees won Game 4...it was Tuti! Tuti is an office coordinator in New York City who is beloved by his colleagues. They wanted to show him their appreciation, so they started a GoFundMe to send him to a World Series game: https://gfme.co/4ft9duH Although the #Yankees ultimately lost, Tuti was clearly the good luck charm on Tuesday night. Kudos to the team at Suffolk Construction for coming together to thank Tuti in such a special way. We love to see it 👏

Moments from ZCON ✨ Some of our GoFundMe team and partners got together in Brooklyn last week at #ZCON2024, the first of its kind, Gen Z-led conference. We were so excited to highlight the amazing work from some of our impact creators on our panel, “Closing the Gap Between Content and Community.” Thanks to our faves -- Hunter Prosper, Mari Copeny (aka Little Miss Flint) and Kayla Ward from To Write Love on Her Arms -- for joining us to talk about how the incredible work they do in their communities takes on an even bigger life on social media. So much of the discussion was around our new Social State of Giving Report. Did you know that a whopping 51% of Gen Z would trust impact creators to make donations on their behalf? Find that and so many other learnings here: https://gfme.co/408jp7I Congratulations to the ZCON team on an amazing conference, we can’t wait for the next one! 💚 (Photos from the ZCON team, Nick Dybel, Ari Elgharsi)

As the world’s largest online fundraising platform, GoFundMe and Classy are always studying new trends on how people donate, and creating solutions to make giving easier and more impactful than ever. Recently, we uncovered exciting new patterns in the ways supporters of different generations choose to give, share, and interact with causes they care about. You can read the full report on our website, but here's some of what we learned about Gen Z: As the first generation of true digital natives, Gen Z is unsurprisingly more inclined to support their favorite causes online. They stand out as the most active generation donating on social platforms. However, beyond giving, Gen Z views social media as a way to advocate for the causes they believe in: 🫶 Gen Z is 10x more open to sharing that they donated on social media than Boomers. 🫶 In fact, 46% of Gen Z surveyed believe people should share donations online to help spread the word and inspire others. 🫶GoFundMe research shows that every time an organizer shares their fundraiser, this can help drive an $100 toward their goal, on average. Read the Social State of Giving report and let us know in the comments what resonates with you and your community: https://gfme.co/408jp7I

With half of Gen Z sharing causes or fundraisers at least once a week, and at least half of millennials and Gen X sharing monthly, we know enabling easy donation experiences through social media is critical. That’s why we’re thrilled to team up with Meta to launch innovative new sharing features meant to drive more donations to nonprofits. Through this first-of-its-kind collaboration, donors and nonprofits using GoFundMe’s software company, Classy, can more easily share the causes they care about on Instagram. These features will be available on GoFundMe for fundraisers supporting charities soon, too. Learn more about enhanced social sharing with Meta: https://gfme.co/4hqzP1w For more on how Gen Z views social media as a way to advocate for the causes they believe in, see our Social State of Giving report -- out now: https://gfme.co/408jp7I
