About us
The GPA Rocky Mountain Chapter (GPARMC Midstream) is a Non-Profit Organization committed to serve as a forum for exchanging ideas and information regarding the Midstream Industry and provide opportunities for social interaction with others involved in the industry in the local Rocky Mountain area. GPA MIDSTREAM MISSION STATEMENT "We are the primary advocates for a sustainable Midstream Industry focused on enhancing the viability of natural gas and natural gas liquids. We provide local, regional and global forums to develop standards, conduct industry research, educate our workforce and improve operational safety. As advocates, we work with legislators and regulators to promote a safe and viable Midstream Industry." OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH NATIONAL GPA MIDSTREAM Although GPARMC Midstream is closely affiliated with the National GPA Midstream, it is a separate organization. There are five other regional chapters – North Texas, Mid-Continent, Permian Basin, Appalachian Basin and Houston. As separate organizations, each regional chapter charges a modest membership fee to cover operating expenses (i.e. banking and credit card fees, which enable on-line transactions and website maintenance). Thus, membership to National GPA Mistream does not include membership to any of the individual regional chapters. For GPA Midstream Rocky Mountain Chapter, each individual or company, as applicable, is a separate member than the National GPA Mistream. The membership dues are only $50 per person or $500 for a corporate membership for each fiscal year, which runs annually from December 1st to the following November 30th.

Call for Papers! GPARMC is excited to accept presenter applications for the 2024 Regional Conference on Wednesday, November 13 at Denver Marriott Tech Center! Applicants are encouraged to shape their proposal around sharing of technical, social, or political developments in the midstream oil & gas industry. If chosen as a presenter, you will be expected to give a 30-minute presentation followed by a short Q&A session with the audience. There are sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities for those interested in promoting a company and/or service. The topic/outline submittal for consideration deadline is September 30, 2024. The GPA Midstream Rocky Mountain Chapter sends our collective thoughts and prayers to the family, friends and colleagues of Jim Marino. If you’ve been to any of our events, you’ve undoubtedly met Jim. Despite living in the Houston area, he was always attending and volunteering to help in any way he could, so much so that we recently had a conversation with him to gauge his interest in potentially joining our board of directors next year. Jim managed to stand out in an industry full of standouts and he will be greatly missed.

It comes with great sadness to announce the passing of Jim Marino. Jim passed away peacefully and unexpectedly early Saturday morning at his home in Tomball. Please keep Jim’s family in your prayers. Jim’s contributions to our industry, directly through United Steel Structures, Inc., and indirectly through personal relationships have been profound and unselfconscious. His work and desire to build relationships with colleagues, customers, and everyone within the industry has positively impacted us all. Having a conversation about Jim, that you knew him or worked with him was typically followed by “he’s such a nice guy”. Jim was heavily involved with the Houston GPA Midstream (HGPA), GPA Midstream Association, and GPA Midstream Rocky Mountain Chapter organizations as part of his role but loved the opportunity to make new friends and relationships. Jim was a friend and tremendous resource for me who was always willing to help both personally and professionally. I am sure he has impacted you all similarly and will be missed. For those of you who want to pay your respects, I will provide future information and details regarding Jim’s service, once it has been arranged.

We would like to thank John Jechura for taking the time to speak last Thursday at our Q2 Training in Denver. Attendees were treated to a great opportunity to learn from one of the best. They now understand how to get full use out of the GPSA Engineering Data Book with an introduction to the week-long training class offered by the GPA Midstream. John provided both in-depth and abbreviated reviews of numerous course sections, which gave attendees an understanding of the lecturing concepts and types of problems that are performed during the full-length course. Thanks again to John and thanks to the training committee for putting this event together!
