Pursuing peace through nature, arts, justice, community, faith, and Design for Freedom.
About us
Grace Farms Foundation’s interdisciplinary humanitarian mission is to pursue peace through nature, arts, justice, community, faith, and Design for Freedom, a new movement to eliminate forced labor from the building materials supply chain. The Foundation’s work is carried out at Grace Farms. The open, porous architecture of the internationally acclaimed River building at Grace Farms, designed by SANAA, is embedded into 80 acres of natural landscape. The building, designed to break down barriers between people and sectors, invites all to pause and reflect, while also encouraging engagement with our initiatives, creating new outcomes. The result is a hopeful, yet active, environment where peace take shape. Grace Farms is accessible and free to the public six days a week. Through on-site programming, daily experiences, and exhibits, all are invited to observe, experience and support the work of Grace Farms Foundation.

On #IndigenousPeoplesDay and every day, we honor, respect, and recognize the Lenape and other tribes who once nurtured and co-existed in harmony with the land on which Grace Farms sits. We honor past, present, and future generations. At the core of this living remembrance and acknowledgement is our commitment to upholding their universal respect and gratitude for our planet Earth and all of its inhabitants. From the animals to the trees, the rocks, ponds, and rivers and each other, we are steadfast in our pledge to take only what we need from our environment, no more, and maintain a daily appreciation and gratitude for all of it provides to us. As an organization, we are committed to critical inquiry and collaboration. We have begun the process of listening and learning from indigenous communities and to understand the indigenous stewardship of the land on which Grace Farms stands. This day signals an important call to action. To reconcile with the past, we must acknowledge it. We also celebrate the teachings and indelible legacy and ancestry of the tribes who stewarded this land and that of our surrounding community, and share in their awe and reverence for our planet, its creatures, plants and beings living alongside us. What an extraordinary experience screening the MAU documentary with Aiyemobisi "Bisi" Williams at the stunning Grace Farms Foundation in New Canaan, CT, as part of the Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF). A huge thank you to Grace Farms' Architecture Advisor, Toshihiro Oki, and Director of ADFF, Kyle Bergman for facilitating such a meaningful community engagement at this remarkable space, this past weekend! Grace Farms is where nature, arts, justice, and community come together in harmony, housed in the breathtaking SANNA-designed River Building and farms. Their Design for Freedom initiative is leading the charge to eliminate forced labor in the building materials supply chain — a true example of life-centered design in action. Thank you to the entire Grace Farms team for supporting the screening. We hope keep the design conversation going!
