From the animals to the trees, the rocks, ponds, and rivers and each other, we are steadfast in our pledge to take only what we need from our environment, no more, and maintain a daily appreciation and gratitude for all of it provides to us. As an organization, we are committed to critical inquiry and collaboration. We have begun the process of listening and learning from indigenous communities and to understand the indigenous stewardship of the land on which Grace Farms stands. This day signals an important call to action. To reconcile with the past, we must acknowledge it. What an extraordinary experience screening the MAU documentary with Aiyemobisi "Bisi" Williams at the stunning Grace Farms Foundation in New Canaan, CT, as part of the Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF). A huge thank you to Grace Farms' Architecture Advisor, Toshihiro Oki, and Director of ADFF, Kyle Bergman for facilitating such a meaningful community engagement at this remarkable space, this past weekend! Grace Farms is where nature, arts, justice, and community come together in harmony, housed in the breathtaking SANNA-designed River Building and farms. Their Design for Freedom initiative is leading the charge to eliminate forced labor in the building materials supply chain — a true example of life-centered design in action.
